Our home is an airy and bright 1925 Tudor that was taken down to the studs and completely renovated in 2018. It is sleek and modern with subtle, stylish details. Lot's of open space and windows.

Located within 10 miles of Center City Philadelphia, Castle House was built in 1922 and was one of the original homes constructed in our quiet, Drexel Hill neighborhood. Built with imported stone and Mercer Tile, the home has a mainly Mediterranean and Spanish feel with dark wood beams, baseboards and doors. There is a small tudor accent on the house's front-facing exterior. We've chosen furniture and accents that reflect the home's general style, especially in the living room, dining room and foyer, so that the house can play present-day or 19th century.
The lawn receives year-round fertilization as well as weekly cuts and edging in the warm weather months. We have planted the garden beds that surround most of the house with numerous flowers and flowering plants with an eye toward always having something blooming outside of winter, although how much color you'll find depends on the month. There are numerous rose plants. The rose growth over the front door is trimmed back occasionally and may not appear as full as pictured, but there always at least some vines present, along with a wrought iron decorative feature. There is an unfinished, uncluttered attic also available for use, although it has no a/c or heat and will be uncomfortable in extreme weather.
Our location is only 2 blocks off Route 1 and 2 miles from I-476. We are convenient to Philadelphia International Airport and within 30 minutes from Center City.
This 1938 estate house (http://themeredithhouse.com) perfectly preserves many of its original architectural features, including a 40'x20' great hall with vaulted ceiling and oversized fireplace, a stained-glass oriel, late wood-paneled dining room with corner cabinets, a two-story entrance foyer with grand wood staircase, and an Adam style library. The home sits atop a hill amidst 3.5 acres of woods. The residence is over 8000 square feet and includes original 1930s tiled bathrooms, a basement with walk-in vault, and a more modern bathroom and bedroom on a third floor. There is also a wonderful and original outdoor stone lodge and spacious backyard. Parking is easily available on property and adjacent side street.
