The space was set up exactly as we discussed and the team was available immediately to help with all requests. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because when we initially tried to book, we were told that the space had been reserved on another site and our booking needed to be cancelled - even though we had been able to successfully book through Giggster.

This place was absolutely perfect for our event! You cannot beat the price for the privacy and lots of parking inside the lot. Fully enclosed with a private gate and entrance. The place is a lot bigger than what you see in the pictures. The best part about this place was the host Daniel who was an absolute gentleman and very easy to work with. Daniel made everything simple and was very accommodating to our special requests. We would highly recommend this venue for any type of event and we of course, will be returning again!

What a great experience! I screened my first short film here and they were so helpful and knowledgeable on the files and formats best suited for a screening (which was a big help to this first time film maker). The projectionists for both my test and the actual screening were so nice and made sure everything ran smoothly!

Find Screening spaces

Discover Unique Venues for Your Film Screening

With access to online resources such as Giggster, finding the perfect venue for a movie screening is easier and far more exciting than you might think. Whether you're planning to organize an indie film night with your film friends or a huge screening event featuring Hollywood blockbusters, you need the right venue to make it work. From converted warehouses to cozy private theaters and big backyards, we have unique screening locations that cater to different kinds of movie showings.

The best part is you don't have to break the bank to rent a charming venue. We have a couple of affordable screening rooms available for every budget and group size, each with a unique vibe. Browse our listings on the Giggster app and discover the space that speaks to your style. With a good venue, you can turn a simple movie night into a special occasion.

Screening Spaces Curated by Giggster

Our venues here at Giggster are carefully selected so you get only the best spaces. Whether you're looking for big theaters, private screening rooms, or outdoor spaces, our curated collection offers plenty of options for your event.

  • If you're presenting an upcoming video game or showing a movie for a club or organization, a dedicated screening room is your best choice. It may not be the largest, but it's ideal for a small or mid-size group. You get soft, comfortable seats, a professional cinema screen, and high-quality sound for the ultimate private cinema experience.

  • For a major cinematic event, such as a film festival or awards night, book no other than a professional theater. It's fully equipped with professional lights, tiered seats, a big screen, and a sound system designed especially for screenings. Your guests will feel like they're attending a proper premiere.

  • If you want something a little more versatile, or you're on a tight budget, renting an industrial warehouse is a good option. The open floor plan gives you total flexibility over the design, so you can build the cinema setup that you want. All you need are comfortable chairs and a projector setup—you can even project the film on a white wall if you're okay with that.

  • For that cinema-under-the-stars experience, a ranch property will give you something unlike anything else. The fresh air and relaxed atmosphere are perfect for casual movie nights with the family or neighborhood film showings.

Amazing Screening Spaces Starting at Just $14 USD/hour

Exceptional Variety & Quality: All of our 10000 venues go through a meticulous selection process. We have a wide range of spaces to choose from—from cozy screening rooms to expansive outdoor estates—all of which are affordable and filled with the essential amenities.

Hassle-Free Booking: Unlike Googling venues one by one and visiting their individual websites, booking on the Giggster app is very easy. You can clearly see our prices and detailed venue descriptions, and message the venue host directly if you have any questions about the venue you're eyeing.

24-Hour Free Cancellation Policy: What if you've already booked a venue, but found something you like better, like this NYC Style Loft Studio? You can cancel for free within 24 hours of confirming your booking, as long as the booking is made at least 48 hours before your event date. That's the flexibility you need to plan with confidence.

Platform Protections: We want both you and your host to feel protected during your stay inside the venue. Our optional damage and liability coverage safeguards against unexpected incidents, and our cancellation protection gives you a safety net against last-minute disruptions.

Choosing the Right Type of Location for a Film Screening

Whether you're showing a documentary about your city or a biopic about your favorite musician's life, a film screening is an exciting event to organize, especially if you're doing it with your friends, peers, or members of your organization. To make the most of the event, you need to find the right cinema with strong technical capabilities to screen a movie and comfortable facilities to accommodate a crowd.

Movie Theaters / Cinemas – Classic and Purpose-Built. When you book a cinema for a private screening, everything's already in place for the ultimate movie experience: tiered seating, a massive screen, and a high-quality sound system. It's the gold standard for a reason, plus you don't really need to do much other than welcome your guests to the venue.

Mini Ranches – Outdoor Cinema. For something different, how about you try an outdoor cinema experience? Your guests will love the breath of fresh air (literally). Enjoy the laid-back atmosphere that no indoor venue can replicate. You may be exposed to outdoor elements such as unpredictable weather and insects, but the novelty makes it worth trying. Do the prep—time your screening during the evening for a much cooler temperature, and provide bug spray for all attendees.

Multi-use Event Spaces – Flexible and Full of Potential. If you want full control over how your private screening will look and feel, a versatile event space will give you the blank canvas to work with. You decide the layout, the seating arrangement, and the decor—it's the ideal choice if you have a specific vision in mind.

Screening Rooms – Intimate Movie Experience. A private screening room is purpose-built for exactly what you're doing. With professional projection, controlled acoustics, and comfortable chairs already in place, you can focus entirely on your guests and the film rather than worrying about the technical setup. It's usually best for organization-led screenings or private showings for the cast and crew of the film production.

Film / Photo Studios – Creative and Unexpected. A film or photo studio brings a behind-the-scenes energy to your event that will make it look authentic—great if you're part of the production team. With lighting rigs, open floor space, and a creative aesthetic, these venues give your screening a unique edge.

Essentials for a Screening Event

Just because a cinema or theater looks inviting doesn't mean that it's the perfect venue for you. You still need to make sure it has all the essential features that complete your movie-watching experience: a high-quality screen and sound system, comfy seats, clean restrooms, and parking (or street parking available). Before you commit to a venue, make sure it checks the boxes that matter most for your event.

What's the audio-visual setup like? Great picture and sound aren't optional for a film screening—they're the whole point. Look for venues that already have quality projection equipment, a large screen, and crisp sound systems in place. If they don't already have them, confirm that the site can easily accommodate the gear you're bringing.

Are there enough seats for your guests? Comfort matters a lot, especially when watching a movie. Whether you're going with rows of chairs, lounge-style seating, or a mix of both, make sure your venue has enough seats for everyone. Little details, such as chairs lacking cushions or running out of seats, with some guests sitting on the floor, can sour the experience, no matter how good the film is.

How accessible is the location? You want your guests focused on the movie, not on finding parking or navigating a confusing location. Choose a venue with character that's easy to get to and accessible to everyone on your guest list—including those with mobility needs.

How to Plan a Movie Screening

A little advance planning will be very helpful in pulling off a smooth, enjoyable screening event. Not everyone is knowledgeable about the process, so if it's your first time organizing a screening, here are a few tips to keep in mind.

Secure Your Venue Early The best screening spaces fill up very quickly, especially on weekends. Once you have a rough idea of your guest count and target date, start your search on Giggster and book your space before someone else does. The rest will follow from there.

Choose Your Film The movie is the centerpiece of the entire evening, so give it the thought it deserves. Are you synchronizing your event with the world premiere of a particular movie? Know your target audience, the mood you want to create, and whether you're going for something nostalgic, sentimental, or thought-provoking. A well-chosen film anchors the whole event.

Plan the Food and Drinks A movie screening isn't complete without some snacks. Think about whether you want a full catering setup, a grazing table, classic cinema-style popcorn and drinks, or something more themed to the film. Make sure your venue supports the food service style you have in mind.

Set Up for Comfort Make sure you choose an accommodating venue—one where the seats are comfortable, the screen is visible from every angle, the lighting is adequate, and the sound is crisp and clear. When guests show up to a space that's clearly been thought through, you can expect that they'll enjoy the evening.

Film Screening Hidden Costs

A film screening isn't exactly expensive to organize, and the ticket price will mostly cover your expenses. That said, there can still be unexpected costs that may come with it, so it's better to be prepared than sorry. Make sure that your budget accounts for every possible cost you can think of.

Have you factored in licensing fees?

Screening a film publicly—even for a private event—often requires a public performance license. This is a cost that catches many planners off guard, so look into licensing requirements early and include that fee in your budget before you finalize anything else.

What about equipment rental?

Not every venue comes with a full audio-visual setup. If you need to bring in a projector, screen, speaker system, or even extension cords and cables, those rentals will add up. Get a clear picture of what the venue provides versus what you'll need to hire separately.

Are there setup or overtime charges?

Many venues charge extra for early access to set up or for running past the booked time. Ask your host up front about any additional fees tied to setup time, cleanup, or overtime, so you're not facing an unexpected charge the morning after a great night.

Discover Unique Screening Rooms on Giggster
