“Outstanding” is the only word to describe our experience with Travis’ team and venue! We booked this venue for a wellness event with 50+ people. The venue was stunning, incredibly clean, and suitable to most events. Our team needed a good deal of support to get setup for our event and the day of coordinator on site was SO helpful. Our attendees loved the space and we intend to book this space for our organization’s future events.

Sensational Commercial Kitchen Spaces Starting at Just $17/hour

Exceptional Variety & Quality: From open kitchens exposed to dining areas to shared-use commercial kitchens to total private locations, the selection of 10000 unique spaces in the Giggster app is truly enviable.

Hassle-Free Booking: Aside from clearly displayed rates as low as $17/hour to keep overhead costs in check, booking in the Giggster app is a piece of cake. Easily review images, amenities, availability, and size limits before making your final decision. It's also possible to directly message the kitchen hosts with any unanswered questions.

24-Hour Free Cancellation Policy: Not every booking has to be set in stone. When you find what you think is the ideal kitchen space, book it knowing you have the first 24 hours to change your mind completely or make adjustments risk-free. The only caveat is that reservations must be made a minimum of 48 hours before the rental starts to qualify.

Platform Protections: A lot of things can go wrong in a commercial kitchen like Daylight Studio Toronto (just think of all those knives), so Giggster offers optional protection for things like accidental damage and liability. Plus, if your plans are more in flux than you want them to be, add on extra free cancellation time.

Top Events for Commercial Kitchens

Commercial kitchens like Daylight Studio Toronto have a ton of uses aside from just making food. These are just some of the fun events you can create with Giggster's help:

  • Cooking Classes – Use Specialized Equipment. Host a cooking class in a fabulous kitchen with clean lines, modern appliances, and every type of utensil or pot imaginable. Enjoy enough room for up to 20 students to maximize your return.

  • Film Shoots – Watch the Scene Come Alive. Set a scene in a commercial kitchen space to have the stars do prep work, servers come and go from the serving station, and pots bubbling on a commercial-grade stove. Opt for something high-end and modern or a spot with a little more grit.

  • Demos and Launches – Expertly Showcase Products. The best way to demonstrate (and sell) a food-related product is in a fancy commercial kitchen. It will elevate the tone yet still allow customers to try things out and picture using the item in their own space.

  • Cooking Videos – Try Out New Recipes. Whether your home kitchen is lacking or you want a change of scenery, renting a professional kitchen is ideal for content creation, like cooking videos and recipe photos. Set up at a top-of-the-line gas stove, stage finished food with a lovely quartz or stainless steel countertop backdrop, and do on-the-move shots throughout the whole area.

  • Menu Creation Parties – Lots of Taste-Testing. When you want to try out some new recipes for your food truck or smaller restaurant, host a menu party. Invite staff, friends, and family to help whip up and taste everything. The perfect space would be attached to a restaurant so that everyone can sit and experience the new menu items.

Essentials for a Commercial Kitchen Space

Kitchen necessities will vary from project to project and event to event, but these are the most important amenities to look for and consider when booking your commercial kitchen.

Do you need air conditioning? Simply put, a kitchen can get very hot, whether you're actually cooking or if you're filming or hosting an event with lots of people in a somewhat small area. Look for venues with accessible temperature controls and air conditioning to keep things nice and cool.

Is the kitchen compliant? When preparing food for others, you need the kitchen space to meet all local health and safety codes. Otherwise, it will still be a ghost kitchen, and you'll be potentially breaking rules.

Is the cold storage big enough? When cooking for large groups, make sure there is enough fridge or freezer space to store the finished product until you're ready to move it. Also, look for adequate prep station space and ensure the appliances can accommodate multiple pots and pans at once for efficiency.

Pros and Cons of Events at Commercial Kitchen Locations

A commercial kitchen may or may not be the best option for your event or production. The only way to know for sure is to review all the pros and cons:

Advantages

  • There's no better place to prepare food! Commercial kitchens have everything at your fingertips, including high-capacity industrial ovens, sleek prep stations, and even sanitation systems to keep everything extremely clean.

  • For film crews, a working kitchen will completely eliminate the time (and cost) of creating semi-working props and will add to the authenticity of the production.

  • The need for additional decor is limited. When creating a cooking video, showcasing a new product, or photographing finished dishes, the backdrop of a commercial kitchen is already ideal. The only thing you might need to add is a little branding.

Disadvantages

  • The time limits and overall availability of the commercial kitchen space may be an issue. Restaurant kitchens, for example, need to be functional during business hours, so you'll have to work around that.

  • Many commercial kitchens are not necessarily designed for an audience or a large number of guests. So, events may see guests separated from chefs or risk cramping their style.

  • When filming TV shows, movies, or cooking demos, the sound quality in a commercial kitchen could be a problem. Surfaces like stainless steel tend to create echoes.

Getting Ready for a Commercial Kitchen Rental

With some forethought and planning, you can all but guarantee your shoot or event's success. These are just some of the most important things to consider:

Focus on Lighting – It's easy to get drawn into having the right food and props on hand, but don't leave out the lighting. Without it, your star will get lost in the background, or the plated food won't look its best. Lighting is also important for parties, as you want to create a nice atmosphere without it being too dim.

Define Your Zones – To avoid a cramped and confused event, define the specific zone ahead of time. Will the food prep be done in the heart of the kitchen or somewhere else? Where will the camera people stand? Do you need a holding area for extra gear or food items?

Don't Forget Cleanup – Make sure you allot a sufficient amount of time to clean up the space. Check to confirm cleaning supplies are already included—bring them with you if they aren't. And if you have some great food left over at the end of the event, consider donating it to avoid waste.

How to Save Money on a Commercial Kitchen Rental

Blowing the budget can quickly take a fun event and make it stressful. Use these tips to keep costs as low as possible, and remember that Giggster's venues start at only $17/hour.

Does the space need to be private?

If you don't need the exclusive use of the kitchen, consider splitting the rental costs with another business. A shared-use kitchen will still give smaller teams a place to work comfortably without the costs getting out of hand.

Avoid peak times.

Especially if you're renting a restaurant kitchen, scheduling your filming or cooking at what may feel like an odd time will save money. Early mornings and late nights after the place closes mean you won't have to pay higher rates to cover the restaurant's lost income.

Prep everything in advance.

If you're renting a commercial kitchen, you'll likely be dealing with food in one way or another. Prep beforehand by chopping veggies and organizing dish ingredients. Label everything to avoid an endless search, and even a day-of checklist will keep things on track. And staying on track means you can rent the space for less time, which means saving money.
