There's a not a huge amount of noise transfer but it would be audible if your event is quiet in nature. Bright, modern space with 15' ceilings and a full kitchen. Bright, spacious, and open. There are two bedrooms and a bath on the mezzanine level if you'd like to book it for an overnight stay in addition to your event. It's great for smaller (60 people or less) events and special occasions. Parking is usually available on Ashland in front of the building, if not you can park on the curb cut between the street and sidewalk; it's next to the garage. See the last picture for a map. There are 10 chairs in addition to the couch. We have an extra folding table and extra chairs if needed, and many people bring more. The pool table can easily be converted to a table as well. Optional add-ons include the promotion of your event using our exterior digital sign ($75.00/day), access to dart board ($25.00), or even an overnight stay in our newly remodeled sleeping accommodations on the mezzanine level. Overnight stay if you've booked an event: $275/night. If you'd like this option you'll need to book the space until midnight and let us know you'd like to spend the night. Check-out is usually10 am the next day. Loud music and smoking tobacco are strictly prohibited at this property. Other than that, as long as you leave the place as you found it, you can use the space as you wish. We collect a $600 security deposit up front that will be returned as long as there's no damage or lingering smells (like cigarette smoke).

The Venue is a historic building in the South Loop of Chicago. It features original brick walls and our recent renovation was designed by Gensler Design. The first floor is coffee shop with music vibes throwing back to prior ownership of the building by VeeJay Records, one of the first Black-owned record labels in America. It's an ideal setting for music nights as we regular organize jazz/blues nights in that space. On the 2nd floor our coworking space is housed. The main open space has coworking desks with cubicals that can easily be collapsed and rolled into storage, turning that room into a multi-use event space. The brick wall in that room has 3 very large TV screens that connects to our AV system. Our feature conference room overlooks Michigan Avenue and has floor-to-ceiling glass walls (front and street level) with 15 foot ceilings. The table is custom-made and hand carved by Chicago Fire Furniture, and Black-owned custom wood shop. Their custom woodwork is also featured in our coffee shop. In addition, the building has 2 kitchens, an elevator, small private offices and meeting rooms, and a Mother's Room.
