Had an amazing experience with miruna and this space, I would highly recommend booking with them. Firstly the space. It was incredibly spacious and nicely furnished for socializing. The kitchen island is massive and we had over 15 people comfortably around hanging out just at that spot. Has a fridge, microwave, and stove+oven. There is a minor inconvenience with the bathroom setup but when I was speaking to the owners they made it as accommodating as possible and I heard that it might be changing for the better soon, so I classify it as a non issue. The included TV and sound system + WiFi are all very appreciated in party planning. I will say this space is not handicap friendly as it's located on the third floor with only stair access. Secondly the owner(s). Miruna and Andy were some of the best people I've ever booked had the pleasure of booking a space with. They were very considerate, welcoming, and really went above and beyond. They let me see the space early to gauge what I would need to bring for my party, communication was quick and easy, and they really handled my time with respect. Long story short after I booked another, very large group, requested the space as well. After conversing with them and the owners we settled on a plan that they would come the same day, just earlier. Miruna and Andy made sure that the space was cleared of people (over 150 btw) and was spotless when It was time for my booking! I didn't even see a trace of the other party being there! All in all, I can't recommend booking with them enough!

Pros and Cons of Unusual Events in Toronto

The city of Toronto is no stranger to unique and unusual events. There's something for everyone in this vibrant city, from giant parades that take over whole streets to oddball festivals. However, organizing such an event can be a complicated process with many pros and cons. Here are some of the main benefits and drawbacks of organizing unusual events in Toronto:

Advantages

  • Unusual events often generate large amounts of media attention, which can be great for publicity and raising awareness about whatever cause the event promotes.

  • They often attract larger-than-normal crowds, creating much-needed revenue for local businesses.

  • Large-scale unusual events also help bring together diverse communities and cultures, creating a sense of solidarity among different groups.

  • As Toronto is already well known as one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, hosting an unusual event could further cement its reputation as a hub for creativity and innovation.

Disadvantages

  • Organizing an unusual event requires lots of resources (both financial and human), which can put extra strain on already tight budgets.

  • Potential safety concerns always arise as these events tend to draw many people into relatively small areas. Therefore, organizers must ensure adequate security measures are taken from the planning stages to the actual event.

  • Events like these may also take away time from other projects that could benefit from additional funding or resources if allocated elsewhere.

  • As Toronto has recently seen its fair share of controversies surrounding cultural appropriation at various festivals, organizers must immediately address any potential issues before they become major problems during the event day.

Tips on How To Organize Unusual Events in Toronto

Organizing an unusual event in Toronto can be a great way to stand out from the crowd and create something truly unique and memorable. With some creativity and dedication, you can create an amazing event that will leave your guests with a lasting memory. Here are some tips on how to organize an unusual event in Toronto:

  • Research unique venues: Toronto has amazing, offbeat locations that can make the perfect backdrop for your event. Look into galleries, lofts, warehouses, and other alternative spaces that may not be used for typical events.

  • Get creative with entertainment. Think outside the box when it comes to entertainment. Instead of relying solely on DJs or musicians, try bringing in performers like magicians, comedians, acrobats, or even firebreathers to add a unique element to your event.

  • Amp up the food and drinks menu: Food and drinks are usually the centerpieces of any great party, so make sure they’re as creative and delicious as possible. Look into using local caterers or food vendors to add even more flavor.

  • Don’t skimp on décor: Good décor is essential for setting the tone for an event – take some time to get creative with decorations, lighting, and furniture rentals. You could even bring in custom art pieces or sculptures from local artists to wow your guests.

  • Utilize technology: Technology has opened up a whole new world for events. From virtual reality experiences to interactive photo booths, there’s no shortage of ways to incorporate tech into your event planning process.

  • Network within the industry: Reach out to other experienced professionals who have organized successful events in Toronto before you – they may be able to provide valuable advice or resources to help you plan yours more effectively.

  • Advertise properly: Make sure people know about your event by utilizing all available channels, such as social media, local publications, and websites dedicated to listing upcoming events in Toronto. A good advertising plan should include both traditional methods and innovative strategies like using influencers or creating an immersive campaign online.
