Disadvantages

- Weather Extremes
Snow. Lake-effect wind. Bone-chilling temperatures. Brutal heat. What’s not to love? Toronto is also home to weather extremes – bitter cold in the winter and blistering hot in the summer. That makes us appreciate the milder weather of the spring and fall months all the more.
- Expensive
Toronto is an expensive city to visit, live, or work in. Expect to pay more for all services in the city. If you’re arriving from the United States, the exchange rate will also impact your budget, with the Canadian dollar usually a strong performer.
Famous Locations in Toronto
- Lake Ontario
The lake that gave the province its name is also one of the city’s most famous locations. The city is on the northwestern shore of the lake and offers a relaxing place to sit, waterside trails, and water sports. There are 30 miles of beaches, green spaces, and marinas. One of our favorite locations is the Scarborough Bluffs. There are eleven different parks that offer views and access to the Scarborough Bluffs.
- High Park
High Park is the largest park in Toronto at 400-acres. It features trails, sports facilities, lakefront access, greenhouses, restaurants, and a zoo. There are cherry blossoms to view in the spring and squirrels to entertain you year-round. Tree enthusiasts should also visit the rare oak savannah in the park.
- CN Tower
The 553.5-meter-high free-standing tower is located in the heart of downtown Toronto and is an easily recognizable symbol of the city. It was built by the Canadian National Railway Company – hence the name CN – on their land and completed in 1976. It’s a communications tower that also offers outstanding observational areas and views. On a clear day, you can see for 100 miles, all the way to Niagara Falls and New York.
