About Denver

Denver, Colorado was first established in the 1850s, when some of the first gold discovered in the country was found in Cherry Creek. It became a prominent fixture in the gold rush, and some of the first gold nuggets ever discovered are still on display in city museums.

The city sits 5,280 feet, or about one mile, above sea level. This has earned Denver one of its most iconic nicknames, the mile-high city. It’s at the base of the Rocky Mountains, which give Denver the scenic backdrop it is known for.

When it was originally settled, Denver was named after the then Kansas Governor James Denver. At first, it was three separate towns with three separate names, but eventually, in 1859, all three came together and kept the name Denver. This was done in return for a barrel of whiskey that everyone would share.

Denver is well-known for its mountains, museums, and ski resorts as well as more than 200 parks. While you are out and about looking for your Denver music video space, stop and enjoy a drink or hit some golf balls. The high elevation of Denver has been said to make alcoholic drinks hit harder, and golf balls go further.
