Shooting here was an absolute dream! The location is beautiful inside and out, with beautiful art throughout. Plenty of great lighting built in, we hardly used any extra lighting for our shots. The bar also has a great soundstage, complete with amps, sound equipment, and even a drum kit. And the assistance the host provides is unmatched. I will recommend this location to anyone shooting bar scenes, or need a stage to record music.

The owner was very accommodating with last minute date changes we needed to make and with our large cast. The cost of fees was higher then usual (for fees in person at the location - site rep and cleaning fees- and processing/damage fees through giggster it added up to another $600+ for a 5 hour shoot). Our on site rep didn't speak much english but he was very nice. The location wasn't extremely clean but that was the vibe we wanted for our shoot. I would say its a good location depending what you're going for, just recommend the location lower all the extra fees as that would keep me from booking again. They also had quite a bit of confusion that we were coming. From what we understand something with the booking got confused on their end and we had to show them screen shots of the booking.

About Queens

Queens, one of New York City's five boroughs, is a vibrant region of culture and diversity. Located on the western end of Long Island and home to two major airports, Queens is home to 2.2 million people—the most ethnically diverse county in the United States. It’s known for its unique neighborhoods that host residents worldwide, including Little India and Chinatown. Its unique history as an industrial hub provides interesting architecture, while its diverse population ensures various perspectives being explored through song.

The borough's history and culture have always been closely connected with music throughout its evolution; from hip-hop acts like Run DMC and A Tribe Called Quest to punk rockers The Ramones, musicians have found their footing in this unique cultural landscape. With its central location between Manhattan and Long Island beach towns, Queens has become a hub for musicians from all genres ranging from hip hop and reggae to punk rock and folk.

Music plays an integral role in the life of Queens, helping shape its culture and making it one of the most vibrant places to live. In Astoria, you can find modern performance halls hosting music events, while in Jamaica, you can find outdoor concert stages offering large-scale live shows during the summer months. On top of this, countless smaller venues like single-room bars or small recording studios offer intimate gigs almost every night, making Queens a prime destination for musical entertainment and creativity.

Tips on How to Organize Concerts in Queens

Organizing concerts in Queens requires the coordination of many elements; from finding an appropriate venue to staffing and advertising the event, it can be an overwhelming task. To help make your event as successful as possible, here are some simple yet detailed tips on better organizing and holding concerts in Queens.

  • Research Regulations & Requirements: Before booking any venue or planning an event, it is important to research the local regulations and requirements. This includes zoning laws, fire safety codes, noise ordinances, insurance requirements, etc. Failing to comply with these regulations could result in hefty fines or even cancellation of the show at the last minute.
  • Pick the Right Venue: Once all relevant regulations have been considered, it is time to find an appropriate venue with enough space for performers and attendees. Plenty of venues in Queens would be suitable for concerts — from conventional clubs and bars to more unusual places such as rooftops or parks. Consider factors such as accessibility, capacity, acoustics, price, and amenities when selecting.
  • Contact Local Media Outlets: Broadcasting your event can significantly attract more people and generate hype about your show. Reach out to local radio stations or newspapers and offer them incentives (such as free tickets) for promoting your concert through their outlets — this could lead to an increased turnout at your show.
