- Vasquez Rocks
Vasquez Rocks is a 932-acre natural area and nature center. The main attraction is the rocks that formed 25 million years ago due to erosion and uplift on the San Andreas fault. It’s a popular tourist destination and was used to film Friends, Star Trek IV, and other television shows. The land and rocks are named after Tiburcio Vasquez, a Mexican Bandido that used the rocks to escape law enforcement in 1874.
