About the Space
This home is on a street frequently referred to as one of the hidden treasures of New York City. It is one of 20 row houses on a cobblestoned street in Washington Heights. Built in 1882 the home attracts European visitors, influencers and has been used for period shoots on shows such as Boardwalk Empire. It is adjacent to the Morris Jumel mansion which is where George Washington stayed during the Battle of Harlem Heights in 1776. It is also where Lin Manuel Miranda wrote the musical Hamilton. Aaron Burr was married to Eliza Jumel who owned the mansion. It is close to public transportation as the C train is around the corner. It is also close to green space as there is a park surrounding the Morris Jumel Mansion. The house is light filled as it is in the middle of the block with no obstructions in the front or the back. It had a gut renovation more than 10 years ago and has many interesting architectural features. There is a small Moroccan garden in the back as well as a small balcony in the front. The Parlor Level has an entrance with the original doors and there is also an entrance on the ground floor which is street level. The kitchen takes up the entire ground floor. It has hardwood floors, exposed brick and exposed beams. Truly a Chef’s Kitchen. The pictures tell the rest of the story.

1 review- booked a filming
Charmaine is the loveliest host, the location is beautiful, a little tricky to shoot in but it can work. Space gets a lot more light than expected and the neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. Highly reccomend!
