This white space features rooftops views, an open floor plan, and enough space to cater it to your specific needs. The south side of the space opens out onto a large outdoor patio which will be unavailable until 2019. The space is on the 3rd floor of a doorman building. There is elevator access. Space manager available to be on site. We are easily accessible via the 1, 2, 3, A, B, C, D, E, F, and M lines as well as the Path train. Smoking is not allowed in this building. Availability: Monday – Saturday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Please inquire about Sunday and evening rates. Amenities: Projector, screen and sound available: sound system with sound board built into space Lighting: Track style gallery lighting with dimmers. WiFi Kitchenette: Fridge, freezer, sink, electric burners (inquire for pricing on using the full 2nd floor kitchen for catering) Tables: 3 tables total including two 8 ft. wooden tables, 6 ft. wooden table Seating: 6 cushioned armchairs and 40 chairs Garment rack Restroom Catering: Outside catering is welcome and we can recommend several options. The venue is a chess school and club founded and run by one of the best coaches in the United States, Grandmaster Maxim Dlugy. Grandmaster Dlugy worked with World champions Anatoly Karpov and Garry Kasparov and is himself a former World Junior Champion. His small group classes are focused on improving kids and adults chess as quickly and effectively as possible by giving them special exercises to immediately begin competing with each other. This process energizes the students best, getting their creativity to its peak potential, which leads to improvement in thinking patterns. For little kids who are just starting out, the Academy offers some of the top instructors in the New York area with over 20 years of experience each in teaching kids chess through fun stories and games. The Academy organizes tournaments on weekends and Tuesdays to help kids and adults practice what they learn and get an official U.S. Chess Federation rating, which will track their progress.
