Kitten's spot glowed with pink of all shades from the second we walked up the stairs. Meg was our site rep, who was an absolute pleasure. Props were abundant and handy and the space was small but workable! We wish we could've stayed longer to get a couple more shots, every corner had a different vibe!

The multiple bathrooms are easily accessible and clean, and the staff is incredibly gracious and helpful for any and all needs. We have been welcomed to use the space again, and can't wait to do so!

About West Hollywood

The area known as West Hollywood acts as the heart, culturally and geographically, of Los Angeles County. Locals often refer to it simply as WeHo, and it was once an unincorporated region of Los Angeles. Originally named Sherman, it was renamed West Hollywood by residents in 1925.

The city stretches for right around two miles and has a population of more than 30,000 residents. The small city of West Hollywood can be found between Beverly Hills and Hollywood. The grid layout of WeHo has made it one of the most walkable cities in Los Angeles County, and there is a community pride that runs deep in its residents.

West Hollywood has a rich history of entertainment and culture. Other major industries in the city include restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. One of the most iconic parts of WeHo is the Sunset Strip. Many businesses in the city can be found along the strip, or along Santa Monica Boulevard.

Production Space Options in West Hollywood

Given how intertwined the film industry is with the culture and past of West Hollywood, it is a perfect location for your next production space. There are options throughout the small city, and in the greater Los Angeles County to choose from.

  • Cameras
If your West Hollywood production space needs industry-standard cameras, there are plenty of options in WeHo and LA. You can rent cameras for your own crew, or hire a production company with their own team and equipment.

  • Lighting
Lighting is also needed for any West Hollywood production space, and this gear can also be rented. There are numerous options in LA to consider. You can also think about hiring professional lighting designers for your space, who will usually bring their own gear with them.

  • Catering
You can use catering to enhance your next West Hollywood production space. The city has services and restaurants with a range of menu options, including ethnic dishes. Many catering companies in Los Angeles County will also serve WeHo.

  • Transportation
Getting to West Hollywood can be done in style with a private transportation company. They can provide more luxury than public LA transport through a fleet of professional vehicles. Many companies even offer private city tours.

Production Space Companies in West Hollywood

You’ll have plenty of companies to consider when using West Hollywood for your next production space. Many of them have years of experience and talented teams of workers.

  • Roaming Hunger
If you are in West Hollywood working on your next production space, you can turn to Roaming Hunger for delicious catering services. Rather than having a buffet or food setup indoors, this company has contracts with hundreds of food trucks of all kinds. They work with you on cuisine and menu options in order to provide the best food truck or trucks for your event.

  • TTS Charters
If you need private transportation services for your entire team in WeHo, TTS Charters provides some of the best services in the area. They have various charter bus options and operate throughout the greater Los Angeles County. Whether you need enough room for a dozen or 50, TTS has what you need and they come with all the comforts like AC, reclining seats, TV/DVD, and charging ports.

  • Los Angeles Camera Rentals
Los Angeles Camera Rentals can be found in downtown LA, and they can provide nearly any camera you could need in your production space. They also have lighting and audio equipment you can rent, and most of their gear is industry standard. From DSLRs to video cameras as well as lenses, filters, and tripods, you can get it all here.

Pros and Cons of Production Space in West Hollywood

West Hollywood will have its pros and cons, just like any other city found in LA County. Being aware of the good and bad sides will help you properly prepare for working in your next production space.

Advantages

  • Quick getaways
When you are in West Hollywood, or cities near Hollywood and Santa Monica, you have plenty of options for quick getaways. There are numerous beaches, mountains, and parks less than an hour away. In WeHo, it won’t be hard to take a nice break from work life.

  • Vibrant nightlife
One of the major parts of WeHo that draw people in is the city’s vibrant nightlife. People visit from all over Southern California to go to the clubs, bars, and entertainment venues found in West Hollywood. You can find several places that host live music nearly every night and enjoy unique cocktails and drinks.

  • Sunny
West Hollywood is sunny throughout most of the year, and one of the things that locals and tourists love the most. Even with all that sun, temperatures don’t typically get too high. Even in the middle of summer, the average ranges in the mid-90s.

Disadvantages

  • Expenses
Being in West Hollywood comes with higher expenses than you might find in other cities. Restaurants and hotels will be costly, and craft alcoholic beverages can be close to $20. While most places in Los Angeles will require a high budget, WeHo is relatively more expensive than nearby cities.

  • Lack of seasons
While mild temperatures and sunny days attract many people to West Hollywood, not everyone enjoys the lack of seasons they experience in the city. Temperatures are mild most of the time, but winters can get a little colder. However, you can’t expect it to snow in WeHo anytime soon.

  • Crowds
A big con of West Hollywood is how large crowding can get inside the city. This isn’t a surprise given it is a major tourist destination. Restaurants and shopping centers bordering Sunset Strip can be expected to be the most crowded. This means you’ll also have to deal with congested traffic and long wait times at attractions.

Famous Locations in West Hollywood

  • Roxy Theatre
The Roxy Theatre found in West Hollywood is an iconic fixture in music history. Over the past three decades, it has hosted major stars, such as Guns N’ Roses and Bruce Springsteen. The Roxy has also hosted some has-beens over the years, but it has seen a recent surge in big musicians.

  • Stahl House
You can stop by the Stahl House in West Hollywood to experience what many people dream of when they dream of “making it big” in Los Angeles. The glittery swimming pool and floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the magic that many people associate with Hollywood itself. This alone makes it one of the most visited places in WeHo.

  • Laugh Factory
The Laugh Factory is right on the edge of WeHo but has still managed to establish itself as a staple of the city. Many famous celebrity comics have performed here, including Dave Chappelle and Dane Cook, who competed over who would be able to perform for the longest. It borders Sunset Strip, like many other popular locations in West Hollywood.
