Michael was a great host and the space had everything we needed. Michael even let us borrow a suit jacket from his personal closet after we had a sizing issue with the wardrobe we brought—totally saved a shot that looked like it might be ruined. Highly recommended for video shoots!

Pros and Cons of Patio Events in New York

Patios are a great way to take advantage of the stunning views of the city while providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for guests. However, some pros and cons should be considered when deciding whether or not a patio venue is right for you.

Advantages

  • Patio events offer an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors without leaving the city. They often provide stunning views of iconic landmarks, such as the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, seen from various popular patios throughout New York City.

  • Patios in NYC provide an excellent atmosphere for socializing, from casual gatherings with friends to romantic dates and business meetings. The ambiance at many patios is relaxed and inviting, allowing diners to enjoy their meals with less pressure than in traditional restaurants.

  • As outdoor spaces, patios are more spacious than indoor dining areas and are often equipped with large umbrellas, heat lamps, and fire pits for comfortable al fresco dining throughout the year.

Disadvantages

  • Some patios may not follow proper safety precautions regarding food handling or hygiene standards due to their relaxed atmosphere, which can lead to potential health hazards if not considered beforehand.

  • Noise-sensitive outdoor seating areas tend to be louder than indoor ones due to background traffic noise and patrons talking over each other, making conversations slightly tricky at times.

  • When hosting events at most patios around town, prices tend to be higher than traditional spaces due to higher costs associated with operating an outdoor event and customers paying for convenience.

Tips on How to Organize Patio Events in New York

Organizing a patio event in New York can be an exciting and rewarding experience, but planning is essential. Here are some tips to help you get started:

  • Choose a venue: Consider factors such as capacity, location, amenities, and budget. The venue should be large enough to accommodate guests comfortably and have enough outdoor space for seating and activities.

  • Research local ordinances: Pay attention to noise levels and fire safety rules and any applicable permits that may be required.

  • Select a style: Choose a theme to create an enjoyable atmosphere for your guests while helping you plan decorations and activities around it.

  • Consider food: Plan the menu by researching seasonal ingredients available in New York and brainstorming recipes that won't require too much last-minute on-site preparation.

  • Don't forget about details: Consider flower arrangements, centerpieces, candles, and place cards at each table setting, which are particularly relevant if your guests are eating dinner outdoors under the stars populated with twinkling city lights.
