Pros and Cons of Meetup Spaces in New York City

New York City is a vibrant urban center with much to commend it. But as with any major center, there are benefits and drawbacks to choosing this metropolis for your New York City meetup space. Here are a few things you should consider before signing on the dotted line.

Advantages

  • Beautiful public parks
There are over 1,700 public parks in New York for you to explore. Over 22% of the city’s landmass is green space and nearly 100% of all New Yorkers are only a short 10-minute walk away from a picturesque public recreational area.

  • Something on the go all the time
New York City comes by its nickname “The City That Never Sleeps” quite honestly. There is something fun to do at every hour of the day, meaning you will never spend a boring day in NYC.

  • Exceptional public transportation
Whether you opt to travel to your New York City meetup space by subway, bus, or taxi, you’ve got lots of options for efficient transportation in NYC.

Disadvantages

  • Constant crowds
New York City sees a lot of traffic on its streets day in and day out. Whether you are seeing a movie, queuing for coffee, or looking to grab a table at your favorite restaurant, you can expect to encounter crowds. If waiting in line is not your cup of tea, you might not think renting a New York meetup space is the best idea.

  • Snow
If you are not a fan of snow, you may not want to plan your New York meetup space in the winter. This city boasts an average of 25 inches of the cold stuff per year.

  • Heavily congested roads
New York City is as famous for its traffic as it is for its Broadway shows. The streets of The Big Apple are a constant traffic jam, one of the main reasons most residents opt to use public transportation rather than purchase a car.
