Great hosts who made planning and communication quite easy. A beautiful space that was just what our photoshoot needed. One suggestion would be to make a floor plan / building access map available to crews ahead of time as load-in was a little confusing. Would happily work in this location again!

Pros and Cons of Yoga Spaces in Chicago

Chicago is a bustling city with so much to see and do. It's also easy to find yoga spaces in the city, whether you're looking for a quaint studio for your practice or a chic place for a photo session. However, as with any large city, there are certain considerations that should be taken into account when organizing a yoga space in Chicago.

Advantages

  • There is a wide variety of venues available for hosting yoga events or fitness photoshoots. From private studios to public parks, venues can be tailored to your specific needs.

  • Chicago is a relatively accessible and well-connected city, making it easier to draw larger crowds than might be possible elsewhere.

  • The sheer size of the city means that there is an abundance of resources available at all times, allowing organizers to pull off successful events without running into too many logistical roadblocks.

Disadvantages

  • With such a wide variety of venues available comes a higher cost for rental fees and other miscellaneous costs associated with hosting an event.

  • Parking can be difficult due to the large number of cars on the streets during peak hours or busy weekends, making it challenging for guests or vendors to get around easily if they park far away from the venue location.

  • Air quality can be poor due to pollution emanating from industrial processes nearby, which can cause certain health concerns for those attending an event outdoors.

Tips on How to Organize Yoga Spaces in Chicago

If you're looking to start practicing yoga or simply want a designated space for your growing collection of yoga gear, we've got some tips on how to organize your yoga space in Chicago:

  • Maximize space: If you have a small studio with limited space, avoid installing large cabinets and furniture. Instead, use floating shelves to store your yoga gear and tools. Using up your wall space is a smart space-saving storage solution.

  • Organize like a pro: Invest in small storage containers or racks to store your yoga props. This will keep them organized and easy to access when you need them.

  • Utilize vertical space: Hang belts or ropes from the ceiling to create additional yoga poses that wouldn't be possible on the ground.

  • Keep your yoga area clean and free of clutter: Regularly organize and clean your props and equipment to ensure a germ-free and fresh environment.

Famous Locations in Chicago

  • Chicago Municipal Tuberculosis Sanitarium
In the past, North Park Village in Chicago was home to the country's largest municipal tuberculosis sanatorium. It opened in 1915 on a 160-acre area in northwest Chicago, featuring thirty-two buildings and 650 beds to provide care for patients with tuberculosis. Today, it is a nature preserve where you can see parts of the old sanitarium while hiking through the woods or walking along the pretty lakeside path.

  • Chicago Temple
The Chicago Temple is a striking sight in the heart of downtown Chicago. At 23 stories tall, it's the tallest church in the world, with its Gothic spire a recognizable landmark on the city skyline. But the church isn't just notable for its height; it also has a long and exciting history. The building was initially constructed in 1892 as an office building for the United States Bank Note Company. However, after a fire damaged the top floors of the building in 1904, it was converted into a church. Today, the Chicago Temple is an architectural beauty home to a diverse congregation of people of all faiths.

  • Chicago Water Cribs
The massive stone towers in Lake Michigan are integral to Chicagoans' access to drinking water. The city's Water Cribs, situated in the lake, are the only visible section of the aging tunnels that lead from the lake, through these structures, and finally to people's homes. These round stone buildings safeguard vents that connect with brick-lined corridors lying 200 feet below the surface of Lake Michigan. The cribs were constructed over one hundred years ago and are still operational. Every day, half a billion gallons of water travel through the tunnels and become part of the city's water supply.
