About the Space
Historic French Quarter building, built in 1835. Location was the home of a historic recording studio owned and operated by Cosmo Matassa. As one of the birthplaces of Rock and Roll famous musicians such as Ray Charles, Professor Longhair, Fat's Domino, Lloyd Price all recorded in this building. Most notably the place that Little Richard recorded Tootie Frootie. The building is located directly across the street from Armstrong park and has a lot of lighting and large windows. Currently the location is half retail, Arts and Antiques, and half Laundromat. Great location for retail, laundromat filming, French quarter and Armstrong Park street view filming. Access to the balcony overlooking Armstrong Park is available for filming/photoshoots as well.
