We rented the Big Legrowlski (now called Abide) for a 40th birthday. We couldnt have been happier with the service, staff, drinks, atmosphere. They were extremely accommodating of our performers and went above and beyond to make the night a great one. Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing experience renting this space for our wedding reception! The space itself was perfect for our event. We used the bar area for food and cocktails, the music area for dancing and live music, and also had the outside area for extra seating and a space to get some fresh air between sets. But better than the venue were the people we worked with- Diz and Wes. Diz helped us orchestrate everything, answering all of our questions and helping us get the space set up just how we wanted. He was reliable and flexible. Wes was our bartender the day of and was the absolute BEST! His drinks were delicious but it was truly his bright energy and positive attitude that made us all fall in love with him. I could not recommend this space more! It was affordable, a great location, and the best people to work with. If we ever have another large scale event, we will definitely be booking again!

This was the perfect venue for us to host our 5 year old's birthday party! Hear me out... Our daughter has a December birthday, so we needed an indoor venue that could support roughly 40 kids and 50 adults coming and going. After touring the space, we elected to have arts/crafts in the music area and for food/beverage to be served in the bar area. We also had access to music, which we streamed our birthday playlist throughout the venue. We had a cash bar and was able to easily set up a variety of kid friendly snacks and birthday cupcakes. Diz and team were a DREAM to work with, and highly responsive to my random questions I had leading up to the day. THANK YOU! Everyone had a brilliant time and said how creatively we used the space. Honestly, I think many parents were thankful to be able to send their kid(s) off to craft in one room while they could socialize in the other. We are likely to use this space again next year!

I can’t say enough good things about this location and host. The space was incredible and they were so accommodating to our group. It was a small intimate space perfect for a memorial. We were able to play music, put a slideshow on the tv, and have enough places for people to sit! It was just an unforgettable day and it was all possible thanks to this venue and team. Forever grateful!

Pros and Cons of Bar Events in Portland

Most of the time, the host has to decide where to hold the events. Portland, Oregon, has a lively nightlife and a unique cultural scene, so renting out venues there might seem like a good idea. There are, however, pros and cons to these spaces, just like there are to any other. Here is a fair look at what to expect if you want to rent a bar in Portland for an event.

Advantages

Unique Atmosphere
Bars naturally have a lively and interesting atmosphere with proper seating that's great for getting to know people and holding social events. The whole place is already set, which can help the event go well without a lot of extra work on the decorations.

Built-In Amenities
When you rent a bar, you usually get access to a fully stocked location, professional sound systems, lighting, and sometimes even a staff of people who are just there to help you with cocktails, vegan options, and more. This may reduce the need for outside providers significantly.

Turnkey Experience
Bars are built to fit large groups so guests can enjoy the event without having to worry about how to get there or what to do. In particular, it makes managing events easier when plans are made at the last minute.

Portland's Unique Flair
Portland is known for its incredible and varied bar scene. Renting a place here can give your guests an experience filled with the city's unique personality and charm that you might not be able to get anywhere else.

Disadvantages

Limited Customization
Since bars are already set up and designed, there may be limits on how they can be customized to fit extraordinary themes or business branding.

Noise Levels
Bar events often have to deal with noise from both inside the place and from the nightlife outside. This might not be the best idea for all festivities, especially ones that need everyone's full attention.

Limits on Age
Most bars have age limits, which could make it harder to get people to your event. This could be a problem for fête that wants to attract people of all ages, like family night or dinner.

Portland's Popularity
Planning an event in one of Portland's popular places might be tricky because there is a lot of competition for the best spots. To get the place you want on the dates you wish to, you may need to book it ahead of time and be flexible with your event planning.

Tips on How to Organize Bar Events in Portland

When the sun goes down in Portland, bar scenes turn into places where significant festivities happen. A good night can become great with the proper planning, whether a party, a business mixer, or a small show. Putting together these kinds of events takes careful planning and knowledge of the place. If you're planning a bar event in Rose City, here are some essential things you should consider to make sure it's not only great but also truly amazing.

Set a Clear Budget
Carefully describe your cash plan. Think about the costs of the location, the entertainment, the staff, food carts, cocktails, and any other expenses that come up. There are a lot of different price ranges in Portland's scene, so having a clear budget will help you find the right bar. This step makes sure that the event stays within its budget and gives everyone the experience they want to be served.

Book Early
People quickly claim the town's best spots. Book your preferred spot early to avoid disappointment. Scheduling early also lets you talk about making special plans that fit the theme and size of your event. Secure details early on so you have time to work on other parts of your plans.

Focus on Safety
An event that goes well is one that is safe. Follow Portland's health and safety rules and make sure the bar has everything it needs in case of an emergency. Think about rules about noise, crowd control, and even accessibility. These are all essential things that keep guests safe and make the atmosphere more welcoming.

Plan Transportation
In Portland, guests' transportation should be considered. No matter the occasion, transportation is essential. To help attendees enjoy your event, check parking, ridesharing, and public transit. In bars, drinking and driving safety is crucial. Offer guests designated drivers or alternate transportation.

Collaborate with Local Talent
Use the artists, DJs, and musicians in the city to make your event feel more like it belongs there. Portland is full of talented people who are just ready to be seen. Having local bands play at your event not only helps the community but also adds a unique touch that fits with the place's culture.
