Great space with great lighting. I only used the living room for my needs. Even on a rainy day, we didn’t have much problem with the lighting and there were extra lights on site to help with any issues in lighting.

Visually the home was absolutely perfect for our shoot. The host was incredibly kind and accommodating and was available if we needed help, but also gave us the space we needed to create. The living room area where we shot most of our footage was oversized and gave us plenty or room to have cameras, lighting equipment and monitors without creeping into the filming space. I will make note that if you are sensitive to cats and smells that come with them, this space may not be for you.

Pros and Cons of Estate Venues in Houston

Holding an Estate photo shoot in Houston is a great choice for photographers, models, and other creatives looking to capture beautiful, unique photos. The city of Houston is home to a variety of estate venues, ranging from rustic barns to grandiose mansions and all points in between. With so many options available, it’s important to know the advantages and disadvantages of hosting your estate photo shoot in Houston.

  • Accessibility – Houston is centrally located within Texas, making it easily accessible for travelers from both near and far who are looking to take their photos there. Furthermore, the vast public transport infrastructure means that getting around the city is not an issue.

  • Variety – As previously mentioned, there is an abundance of estate venues available throughout Houston that range from quaint barns to opulent mansions and all points in between. This allows you to find the perfect setting for your photo shoot, no matter what look you’re trying to achieve.

  • Affordability – Another great advantage of holding an Estate photo shoot in Houston is the affordability compared to other cities around the world. Additionally, there are many rental companies offering discounts or special packages if you book with them long-term, which can help even further save money on your shoot.

  • Weather – Due to its subtropical climate, the weather can be unpredictable in Houston, which may put a damper on outdoor shoots depending on when they are scheduled for. Furthermore, this unpredictability can also lead to extreme temperatures during certain times of the year, which could make conditions uncomfortable during long shoots outdoors as well as indoors if air conditioning isn’t available at the venue.

  • Crowds – With its large population and tourist attractions, Houston can often be crowded, making it difficult at times to get good shots without people appearing in them inadvertently or having security intervene due to the number of people present at any given time.

  • Cost – While renting certain venues may be affordable compared to other cities worldwide, there are some estates that may require higher prices than others due to their location or amenities offered which could add up quickly depending on how long you are planning on shooting at each venue during your visit

Tips on How to Organize Estate Venues in Houston

When organizing a photo shoot in an estate venue in Houston, there are several tips to keep in mind for a successful event. From setting financial goals to researching the right photographer and scheduling, the following is a list of helpful tips to plan an amazing estate photo shoot in Houston:

  • Plan ahead: Make sure to plan at least 3-6 months ahead of time to ensure all logistics are taken care of and that you have plenty of time to find the perfect photographer for your vision. This also allows ample time to scout out the best location and set your financial goals.

  • Do your research: Spend some time researching estate venues in Houston that accommodate your budget and style, as well as photographers with experience shooting at these locations. Ask around for recommendations from friends or family who’ve had success planning similar events.

  • Set a budget: Decide on a realistic budget you’re comfortable spending on your event and stick to it. This will help you make decisions throughout the planning process, such as rentals, décor, food and beverage services, photography, and other vendors needed on-site.

  • Schedule early: Book the day of your event ahead of time so no one else can take it away from you last minute. Ensure you leave enough time before the date of the shoot to finalize all details with vendors and any special requests or accommodations you may need for your event.

  • Interview potential photographers: Schedule interviews with potential photographers for your event so you can get an understanding of their style and feel if they fit into what you’re looking to capture during the shoot. Don’t forget to get references from each one as well.

  • Work with venue coordinators: Before signing any contracts with estate venues in Houston, speak first with coordinators about anything specific or unique needs you may have for your photo shoot that can be taken into account when organizing logistics like transportation or additional space rental fees.

  • Finalize details: Once everything has been decided upon leading up to the shoot, make sure all details are finalized with vendors ahead of time so nothing is missed on the day of the event. This includes confirming arrival times/locations, meal/snack breaks, attire requirements (if applicable), etc.
