This is one of the best locations where my team and I recorded an interview. The place is located at a top location, the different spaces allow any type of gig to take place successfully and the hosts are a-ma-zing! :) Coming back soon, for sure!

The location had a lot of creative flare and was diverse for its overall size. The upstairs had professional recording equipment and a podcast booth while downstairs had a number of compact backdrops to choose from based on your needs or taste. Definitely worth a look!

One of the best locations we have used for filming. The onsite staff were amazing, understanding, and really stood out with their support. HIGHLY recommend.

This is the best studio I ever rent for shooting my photography clients. I work on my garage only with studio lights and this place is a dream, It has a tons of little and big scenarios to play with and the best part is natural light all over it. All my photos looks crisp and clear just as the first shot, I was so happy to not need to bring my flashes out. My client also love it and she could not be happier with all the images we did at the location. Parking was easy, once we found the entrance to it. Juliana really knows her stuff and she had created the perfect space, so happy she is sharing it with us.

A great place for interior scenes. Cozy, but spacious enough for modest film equipment.

A nice space to work in for an office shoot. I had several different location options within the building itself plus the host was very friendly and accommodating.

Production Space Options in Austin

Starting from zero can be a bit daunting, particularly when it comes to production spaces. There are a few things you will need that might sound obvious, but maybe not so much for others. Here are a few options for production spaces in Austin.

  • Cameras
Make sure to get a good camera. This might be the number one thing to consider when it comes to production quality. If you start with a good camera, you will have a much easier time getting the quality to the level you want it. Depending on the type of project you are working on, any variety of cameras could do the trick, it is all about picking the one that is best for your needs.

  • External Mics
While most cameras have a built-in microphone that will capture all the audio you need, the quality might not be top-tier. Consider purchasing an external microphone so you can better capture exactly what audio you wish to capture. The quality is normally higher and you can adjust the levels as well.

  • Lighting
Bad lighting is distracting. Good lighting is key. You want the lighting in your video to be intentional. This is done by adjusting shadows, foreground, and background lighting using different types of lights, the angle of the natural lighting, and reflectors.

  • Video Editing Software
Once you capture all of the raw footage, it is time to bring it to the computer and begin adjustments with your video editing software. This is the best way to crisp up images, alter scenes, and add any special effects the project might need.

Advantages

  • Making friends is easy
There are so many people in Austin, and the culture is so friendly, you will be surrounded by good and talented folks that could help you with your project.

  • Lots of outdoor fun

  • Incredible food in Austin
It is hard to work well on an empty stomach. Luckily, Austin has tons of great food choices to keep your belly full and your taste buds jumping for joy. Enjoy just about any type of food you could think of, but definitely make it a point to try their barbecue.

Disadvantages

  • Summer is hot
Yes, Austin is hot during the summer. And it can even be a bit warm in the spring and fall too. Prepare for the heat and try to have your production indoors during the warmer months.

  • Bad traffic
