The event space was perfect for our surprise party and Takashi was so accommodating! We had gotten there a little early and he let us start to set up. He let us come see the space prior and check the sound, additionally we were considering catering and he provided a sushi caterer suggestion for us. The spacing was great and we even had room for a Photo Booth. We had about 40 people and could have comfortably fit a lot more. At the end of the night he even helped us clean up which was so nice. This space was truly incredible, I cannot recommend it enough.

It’s also home to some of the wealthiest people on the planet, making it an ideal place to hold a fundraising event to raise much-needed awareness in a glamorous, glitzy way. New York has so many amazing event spaces to choose from, so there’s bound to be an amazing venue that matches your vision.

Charity Event Options in New York

When it comes to planning a successful charity event, finding a suitable fundraiser venue is just one of the first crucial steps. You also need to think about your event theme, the size of the guest list, and your target donors, to name a few.

Catering
On any occasion, nothing makes people happier than great food and drink. Depending on how formal you want your charity event to go, you can have a full sit-down dinner, canapes, and signature cocktails, or go casual with a buffet or even a food truck.

Security
With all ticketed charity events, you’re going to need to have someone on the door checking the guests who enter. Especially when you’re also dealing with donations and payments, you’re going to want your venue to be secure. For large fundraising galas, having a professional security team is extremely helpful.

Furniture
Regardless of the style of your fundraising event, you’ll need chairs and tables for people to relax at. If you want a full sit-down meal, make sure you have enough tables and chairs at your venue for all your guests.

Pros and Cons of Charity Events in New York

Even though it’s one of the most visited places in the world, New York City has its downsides like any other. Before looking for charity event venues in New York, consider the following pros and cons.

Advantages

Connections
With so many visitors, both for work and leisure, each year, it’s no wonder that New York is so well connected not only domestically, but also worldwide. There are three airports and major rail and bus hubs to choose from.

Diversity
People from all over the world come to New York to achieve their dreams, and as a result, it’s amazingly diverse. Any culture or cuisine you can think of, it’s here somewhere. This makes for a great vendor selection, and you’re likely to find a versatile space that caters to a variety of cultural preferences.

Events
Regardless of what kind of thing you’re into, there’s unlikely to be a time when there’s nothing to do in New York. The interest in events should translate to a good turnout for your event. The high demand also means that you can always find a perfect venue, even if it’s a last-minute booking.

Easy to Navigate
New York is one of the easiest places to navigate for outsiders, following the grid system at street level and having a simple-to-use subway system below street level.

Disadvantages

Busy
With all these tourists, business travelers and locals, the city is very, very crowded. If you don’t need to travel on the subway in rush hour, then avoid doing it, or you'll encounter a lot of tired and annoyed locals.

Winter
Being in the northeast of the US, New York has weather that can get pretty intense in the winter. There have been massive blizzards with snow-ins before so it’s worth remembering.

Expensive
The Big Apple comes with a big price tag. With so many people wanting to live and work in the city, it means there is definitely a premium on all services in New York. Work with a budget as you decide on your New York charity event venue.

Parking
Realistically, if you’re just visiting New York, there is no need to drive or rent a car. Between the traffic and the lack of parking, it’s going to be much more hassle than it’s worth. This is particularly important to consider for special events where guest convenience is key.

Famous Locations in New York

Time Square
It’s an iconic location throughout film and TV and the site of the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop. With all the advertising screens, it’s a photo opportunity for any tourist. Keep in mind, however, that it gets really busy.

Empire State Building
Another iconic New York landmark, the Empire State Building has dominated the Manhattan Skyline. Take the elevator all the way to the observation deck and enjoy the bird's eye view of the city.

Brooklyn Bridge
New York is full of famous sites and landmarks, and the Brooklyn Bridge is no different. Get your photo of the bridge and then explore the amazing restaurants and bars that Brooklyn has to offer.
