You come to this sprawling 35 acre rolling hill farm by dirt road lined with wood fence to the 1/4 mile driveway up a hill. As you ascend the hill you navigate between two majestic trees then come to a barn/shop with a small apartment above. From there you round the corner to behold a beautiful two story three bedroom farm house that sits on top of a hill. The farm house features a huge back porch (screened and unscreened) with long range mountain views. Below the porch is a patio outside the full unfinished basement. There is a large front yard with a massive firepit overlooking a beautiful valley below. Behind the house is Sautee creek accessed by a path through secluded woods from the house to the creek. Do not be surprised if you see wildlife during your shoot.

1870 Greek Revival Farmhouse:
Our property, part of a National Register historic district, consists of 60 beautiful acres of wooded and open land along the Apalachee River close to Athens, GA. At this location are several historic and new structures: (1) an 1870 Greek Revival farmhouse (2) a 19th century tenant house, now a cabin listed on Airbnb (3) a 19th century Baptist church and library, used as an event space (4) a 19th century Methodist church with original interior (5) fully functioning woodworking, metalworking, and blacksmith shops (6) a timber framed woodworking shop housing old tools (7) a large rustic shelter with a fire pit at the pond (8) a bath house which looks like an old country store with vintage signs (9) our personal home and garden. Most of these buildings are tucked away off the highway, but are easily accessible by vehicles. In addition to these structures, the property boasts natural and constructed features: (1) frontage on the Apalachee River with canoe launch and bridge (2) scenic pond with dock and fishing boat (3) creek and walking trails (4) 3 old graveyards (5) 12 stone terraces that slope down toward the river, constructed in the 1800s for farming. Because the land is located in a historic district, our property and the surrounding properties appear as they would have 100 years ago.
The hourly rate applies to the farmhouse listing. If you would like to shoot in the various other sites shown in photos, the price per hour may differ.
Super hip in Santa Monica in the 30's and 40's this project was built on the location of a now-demolished 110-room mansion that was built for Marion Davies by William Randolph Hearst.
Developed as a design-build partnership between Architects the beach house was conceived as a series of indoor/outdoor recreation and event spaces, both formal and informal, woven through the site. The primary organizing device is a concrete wall that serves a backbone to the disparate elements of the project and as a sound buffer to the adjacent highway.
The wall is subtly stained with green stripes to suggest beach awnings. The new buildings and landscape elements of the project were designed to create a public gateway to the beach, an icon for the site's history and a framework for many kinds of community uses, returning the site to its former status as a landmark for the City and southern California.
The historic pool and deck area, with restored tile mosaics and stone paving, is within a landscaped enclosure below the beach level. Facing the pool is a freestanding white colonnade that defines the location and scale of the mansion’s façade. Behind the colonnade, a series of 14 concrete pillars, each 30 feet high, is the new Pool House with changing rooms, restrooms and built-in cabana areas lined with wood stained in colors taken from the pool tile. On the second floor is a glass-enclosed event room and open terrace that overlooks the pool, with views along the coast.

What The Shoot is For:
Miscellaneous Info Relevant to Your Shoot:
Located on 95 acres in historic Albemarle county only 30 minutes from Charlottesville. It is perfect for your next filming project. The site is representative of the agricultural lands found in Virginia dating back to colonial times, with picturesque views of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west. Minimum intrusion by modern equipment on most of the property means less post-processing to do after your shoot is completed.
The property is divided into five sections:
* Show Barn*
Conveniently located along the driveway on the western edge of the property, our 7,800 sqft three-season show barn will be the perfect place for your base of operations. The barn has running hot and cold water, with bathroom and 110V power and Wifi/Internet access. 50A power connections are also available. Fans keep visitors cool during the warm summer months, with both interior and exterior lights for evening/night-time work. Flat grass all around the barn provides adequate parking for vehicles and other equipment.
Concentrated at the northwestern edge of the property are several acres of forest, parts of which date back to the mid-1700s. Creeks, streams and trails have been cut into the forest. Typical trees are willow, black, pin and white oaks, Virginia pines, cedar and maples. The trails through the forest connect the two ponds and all three hills that make up the property.
* North field*
Our northern field is typically used for crop growing, and is bounded on three sides by woodlands, with a 2 acre beaver pond located at the southern edge. Trails are available around and through the crop fields.
* Center Field *
Located in the center of the property, this field is bounded by the show barn on the west, woodlands to the east, and ponds north and south. This portion of the property also contains a log cabin used as a private residence.
* South Field *
The southern field contains the majority of the farm buildings and the agricultural equipment:
Main barn (build 1950s, extended in 1980s)
Maintenance shed (built 1950s, extended in 1980s)
Hay barn (renovated in 2018)
The pastures on the southern fields are mostly unpainted three-rail fences that run along the driveway and around the exterior of the fences with standard 12' metal gates. Some pastures have woven wire fences. Power poles run up the southern edge of the property and through the edge of some of the pastures.
Another building, a brick-build farmhouse (built 1950s) is a private residence complete with small orchard.
This part of the property is bounded by a pond and stream to the north, woodland to the east, west and south. The southern edge overlooks the floodplain of the Hardware river.
* Animals available*
We have a number of traditional farm animals and exotic animals that can be made available for your shoot at an additional fee. Animals available include Goats, Horses, Alpacas, and Llamas.
