About Redondo Beach

Driving down the Pacific Coast Highway (preferably in a convertible) is on the bucket list for a lot of people. Even country singer Thomas Rhett sings about driving a sports car down the Pacific Coast Highway. One of the beaches that causes drivers on this stretch to stop and stay awhile is Redondo Beach.

It’s located on Santa Monica Bay, south of Manhattan Beach and in Los Angeles County. The beach is a focal point for the city, as one can imagine, with many industries supported by it, from tourism to boating. The city is also home to around 71,000 people.

You can enjoy the Redondo Beach Pier with dining, shopping, and entertainment or the Seaside Lagoon swimming hole for some swimming. Or check out the Wonder of Dinosaurs Museum for a thrill. With all the beautiful shoreline, great attractions, and historic sites, one can understand why there are so many fantastic video shoot locations in Redondo Beach.

Video Shoot Location Options in Redondo Beach

You’ll feel spoiled by all the video shoot locations in Redondo Beach to choose from. It’s a producer's dream, as you can pick and choose and find exactly what you had envisioned when you began working on the project.

  • Catering
Redondo Beach has this relaxed vibe about it and the catering companies, well, cater to it. They get it and live that lifestyle too, and their menu items reflect the way of life that everyone here seems to enjoy. You’ll be swept up into it as they deliver a delicious meal or two at your site.

  • Furniture and Equipment Rentals
There’s a lot to be said for renting furniture and equipment at your destination rather than trying to pack, transport, and then return with everything you need. We used to be those people who brought everything we needed with us. Now, we check out who is in the city and rent what we need when we get there.

  • Transportation
Since you have to get here somehow, you might as well make sure that your route includes the Pacific Coast Highway. That shouldn’t be hard since part of it runs right through the city. There are plenty of transportation companies that can make sure you experience it too.

Pros and Cons of Video Shoot Locations in Redondo Beach

Sorry Blake Shelton (another country singer), but this is more than some beach, somewhere. This is Redondo Beach. You know it’s special because they named the city after it. But there are pros and cons of video shoot locations in Redondo Beach.

Advantages

  • Great place
Redondo Beach makes it to the top of every list, whether as a place to live, vacation, or work. There are just so many good things about it, and it’s hard to pick one or two. We love that it perpetually makes its way to the top of these lists too, that is another testament to all the city has to offer.

  • Low crime
The crime rates (of all kinds) are fairly low in Redondo Beach, making it a safe city to visit, live in, or work in. We always think these safety ratings don’t get nearly the respect they deserve – this is a big deal and should be celebrated. Or at least we should be visiting more of the cities that are ranked “safest.”

  • Scenic
Um, it’s the beach. Do you really need more of an explanation? Just in case, the crystal blue water slowly rolls toward you as you stand on the pristine white sands, with diamonds shimmering off the surface of the water as the sunlight bounces off the waves. Trust us, you’ll love it here.

Disadvantages

  • Expensive
There’s a pretty price tag involved with video shoot locations at Redondo Beach. Budget accordingly and you can easily make it happen, but for some projects, it requires sacrificing other budget items.

  • Poor air quality
The hardest thing about being in a beautiful location is not being able to go outside. Unfortunately, that sometimes happens at Redondo Beach because of poor air quality. There are also some pollution issues at the beaches themselves.

  • Overdone
We love Redondo Beach, but so does everyone else it seems. Sometimes that makes it feel a little overdone, especially when it comes to video shoots. If you’re looking for a location that no one else has used, this might not be it.

Famous Locations in Redondo Beach

  • Burnout Beach
A lot of people go to Redondo Beach, that’s why we prefer Burnout Beach at Miramar Park. It’s a bit quieter and gives you more space to enjoy the beach without the extra crowds and everything that comes with a busy location. It’s also just as beautiful and the waves are just as enticing. It’s at 1801 Esplanade, between Torrance County Beach and the Avenue Beach Lifeguard Tower. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, it got its name after the Riviera Beach Club that was located overlooking the water burned down in 1958.

  • Topaz Jetty
Topaz Jetty is a favorite location for people to walk to, take photos, or just hang out and enjoy themselves. Do a quick search on Instagram and you’ll start to see why. It’s stunningly beautiful, and if you’re at all into Instagram, you’ll be headed there soon to capture your own photos to share with the world. An easy way to get there is to head south on Redondo Beach from Veterans Park.

  • Veterans Park
Veterans Park is small but mighty. The 6.3-acre park has grass, trees, and a playground. As the name implies, the Veterans Community Center and Veterans Park Senior Center are also adjacent to it. The Community Center is a beautiful building, it was originally the Redondo Beach Main Library and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The weekly farmers’ market is also held here.
