I rented the place for a marriage proposal. It is in a very nice neighborhood of New York, and the view is more amazing than it is in the pictures. Also, the host was a great person. He helped me with everything and was so understanding. He even gifted us a bottle of wine! Thank you so much for making it a great experience. I would definitely recommend this place.

About New York

New York is perhaps one of the busiest cities on Earth. Practically at the center of everything, you’ll find no end to interesting things in this town. The city is filled with iconic and special sights at every turn: an array of sports teams in almost every sport, iconic live venues like Madison Square Garden, and the Empire State Building offering breathtaking views of Midtown Manhattan. Even native New Yorkers still spend time exploring the city!

Looking for party venues in New York should be an exciting activity. Even if you're just passing through, you’re sure to find something that piques your interest while looking for perfect NYC rooftop venues. You'll likely discover a rooftop deck or an open-air rooftop terrace that offers a magnificent view of the New York City skyline.

And if you're unfamiliar with how to organize rooftop parties, don't fret! New York has a concentration of party-related services, such as first-rate caterers, bartenders, event planners, and entertainers, that can instantly elevate the party experience.

Rooftop Venue Options in NY

Putting together a rooftop party is a ton of fun. In New York City, rooftop venues offer guests the luxury of an indoor bar and an expansive outdoor terrace boasting panoramic views of the East River and the iconic cityscape. To achieve all of that, it's essential to meticulously plan every detail of the event space. This can seem like a daunting task at first, but as long as you keep in mind what your event needs are and where to get them, you’ll find you have everything to make your party go off without a hitch.

DJ
No rooftop party is complete without live music. However, shuffling your favorite playlist isn’t exactly what everyone would call live music, so unless you know a great band to play, one of the best options is to hire a DJ to play at your rooftop event venue.

Caterer
No private party or corporate event goes well if the guests are left hungry. Since feeding a crowd of people is hard enough on its own, much less on a rooftop bar, you’ll probably want to call in a bit of help. A professional caterer can prepare enough delicious food to feed a crowd of people and keep everyone happy and partying!

Transportation
The last concern you should have at your rooftop party or corporate event is guests struggling to find their way. Since New York City is not an easy metropolis to get around in, hire private transportation to get everyone to and from the venue with ease. Your guests will thank you for it too.

Pros and Cons of Rooftop Venues in New York

With hundreds of venues available in the city, you can be sure that you’ll find the best rooftop venues and private spaces in New York City. However, some glaring disadvantages to this city may hinder you from organizing the perfect rooftop party.

Advantages

Vendors and venues
New York City is a locale with plenty of venues and capable vendors to assist in setting them up. Regardless of the location, hosting your next corporate event at NYC rooftop venues is sure to be a success.

Spectacular views
Organizing your event at a rooftop space in New York City gives you and your guests the unique experience of seeing the iconic New York skyline and making it the backdrop of your photos.

Musicians
New York is home to many aspiring artists and musicians, so you'll have access to a roster of talented people who may be interested in providing entertainment at your event.

Disadvantages

Cost of living
You can’t go to New York and expect things to be cheap—the total cost of living in this city is higher than most places in the country. From venue rental to services, you can expect to pay a bit more for your event. Most rooftop venues range between $400 to $2000 per hour, so you need to work your budget to find the best deal.

The weather
If you’re not used to hot and humid summers and cold and damp winters, then you might be shocked in New York. The summers can get oppressively hot when combined with the humidity and the winters can be downright bone-chilling due to the damp cold.

Can be dirty
While it may seem like a cliche, even locals report that New York can be seen as a dirty city. It’s no wonder, considering the number of people, cars, and the occasional sewer rat. While there’s plenty of beauty to be found in New York City, don’t be surprised if you see your share of grime as well.

Famous Locations in New York

The Brooklyn Bridge
If you’re a fan of architecture, history, or people-watching, the Brooklyn Bridge should be on your list of places to visit. This iconic bridge was completed in 1883 and is the world’s first steel suspension bridge. It features a walking and cycling path for pedestrians and has some of the best views of New York you’ll find anywhere.

Fifth Avenue
If you like shopping, Fifth Avenue will be your perfect location away from home. Filled with over 50 shops from some of the top brands in the world, you can find almost anything you desire all in one tightly packed shopping mall. From jewelry and watches to high-end clothing brands and fragrances, this is a haven for those who love designer things.

Grand Central Terminal
This one-time train and subway terminal is now a fantastic piece of historic architecture. Besides enjoying the grand staircase and the restored ceiling, you’ll also find a selection of restaurants and shops to bide your time at when you’re done exploring.
