Can’t speak highly enough about this space and especially about our hosts. It’s exactly as it appears in the listing, there’s a ton of room. It’s a relatively quiet area of Brooklyn and we didn’t have any trouble parking. Our hosts were so accommodating and went above and beyond to help ensure we had a successful shoot. It’s impossible not to capture inspired images in this home, every corner is a wonder to behold. Will be back as soon as possible. 10/10

Very nice view and very quick responses from host. David is a great host. I recommend this place. Some residents might have a problem with loud music but other that that your good. Very clean and nice.

Melissa was an excellent host, and was very helpful to my team and I for our photo shoot. Her space is clean, well decorated, and has lots of flexible options. Melissa was very responsive to any needs that came up, and we could not have asked for a better experience with this space. I highly recommend this listing!

About Brooklyn

Brooklyn is one of the five boroughs of New York and is one of the most populated cities in all of the United States. Resting between Long Island and Queens, Brooklyn is home to the world-renowned Brooklyn Academy of Music and is celebrated for its vibrant cultural diversity, music, art, and food.

When looking for a rooftop venue in Brooklyn, you’ll find some pretty amazing sites, depending on your location. Whether you are planning a summertime cookout or shooting a music video, there are some great spots in Brooklyn to cater to your rooftop event.

Rooftop Venue Options in Brooklyn

  • Decor
Color pallets, accents, drapery, themes… these are all things to consider when picking the decor for your Brooklyn rooftop event. Proper decor ties the party together, making it more cohesive and respectable. Whether you’re looking to throw a tropical themed reception or a senior prom, make sure you have the right decor.

  • Camera Crew
Is this going to be a documented event? If it is a special function that you want to remember or maybe even promote, get a camera crew or photographer to capture the special moments. Plus, being on a rooftop, there should be tons of natural light.

  • Caterers
Fill that venue with great food and drinks, and you will have the event of the year. Brooklyn has tons of amazing caterers that specialize in all types of food and beverages to bring your party to life.

  • Event Planners
Planning events can be difficult, even if they are super fun. Hiring an event planner is a good idea in order to help alleviate some of the unnecessary pressures of throwing a major event.

  • Music
Whether you are booking a DJ, a singer/songwriter, a band, or playing your own music from your phone, music is a crucial element to any big event. Brooklyn has a great selection of musicians and music entertainers to choose from, making your job a lot easier.

Pros and Cons of Rooftop Venues in Brooklyn

Most major cities in America always balance the duality of a rich and diverse community with the dirty, expensive, concrete jungle that it is. Brooklyn is no exception with its beautiful cultural expression and its erratic seasonal climates.

  • Career/passion project options galore
With opportunities abound, success is always in the air and you will feel it at your rooftop event.

  • Vibrant culture
Art, food, and entertainment. A diverse crowd means more and better vendor options for your rooftop event.

  • Rich history
When a city is rich with history, it takes pride in itself, which makes it a fun place to be.

  • Beautiful parks
If your event is lucky enough to be in view of one of Brooklyn’s beautiful parks, all the better.

  • With rich culture comes great food
If you are having a rooftop party, your food options are going to be vast and amazing.

  • Always busy all the time
Brooklyn is always loud, always busy, always crowded. The downside to a lively city.

  • Wild cost of living
With major prices on everything, rooftop venues are also affected.

  • Summer is too hot and winter is too cold
Either get used to the weather or time it perfectly because the winter is too gross and the summer can bring nasty heat.

  • Incredibly crowded
For some, a crowded rooftop event is good, but for a private or intimate event, not so much.

  • Sometimes dirty
Brooklyn can be unkempt and dirty but perhaps from up above, in the right light, it won’t be as noticeable.

Famous Locations in Brooklyn

  • Coney Island
At the edge of Brooklyn near the beach, you’ll find Coney Island. Full of rides, vendors, and fun, Coney Island is a full day’s adventure! Check out the amphitheater, Luna Park, the aquarium, or catch a minor-league baseball game with your friends.

  • Brooklyn Bridge
At one time, the Brooklyn Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world. Famous for its unmistakable architecture and color, this major tourist attraction connects Lower Manhattan with Brooklyn Heights and is easily walked, biked, or driven across.

  • Barclays Center
If it’s major league sports that you are into, consider visiting the Barclays Center. Home to the New York Islanders NHL team and the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets, this is a great place to bring the family for an experience they’ll never forget.

  • Brooklyn Botanical Gardens
In big cities, it is sometimes hard to find natural beauty. The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens is a green oasis among the concrete. This gorgeous 52-acre landscape is full of colorful gardens, rich with roses, herbs, cacti, cherry blossoms, and a giant glass greenhouse. Thinking of a fun rooftop venue in Brooklyn for your party? Consider an NYC apartment with roof access.
