Awesome space with very great Host. Brian is very communicative and very understating, whenever we had a doubt he always replied promptly and was willing to help us with scheduling or accommodating the space to our liking. The space itself is wonderful and comes with a ton of amenities, very good for taking photos and for an overall a great spot for having a good time with your guests.

Disadvantages

  • With its high cost of living, hosting a wedding in Brooklyn can be expensive for couples on a tight budget.

Tips on How to Organize Intimate Weddings in Brooklyn

For couples looking for a more intimate and personalized celebration, Brooklyn is the perfect location to host an unforgettable wedding. Here are some tips on organizing an intimate wedding in Brooklyn that will ensure your day runs smoothly and everyone enjoys the festivities:

  • Start by brainstorming a realistic budget: Consider how many guests you want to invite, what type of food and drink you would like to serve, and any other activities or extras that need to be accounted for. It's important to stay organized with your finances right from the start so you don't find yourself overspending during the planning process.

  • Look into venues that accommodate smaller weddings: There are several boutique-style venues available in Brooklyn that offer packages specifically tailored for intimate weddings. Make sure to research each venue thoroughly so you can be sure they meet all of your requirements such as size, location, amenities, etc.

  • Put together a list of local vendors: Brooklyn has numerous talented vendors that specialize in small-scale events such as florists, caterers, bakers, bartenders, DJs, and photographers. Ask friends or family members for recommendations or read reviews online before booking any services.

  • Delegate tasks to family members or close friends: It's impossible for one person to handle every single detail when planning an intimate wedding. Delegate tasks such as researching vendors, creating menus, assisting with decorations, or collecting RSVPs among those who have offered their help. This will make everything run much smoother on your big day.

  • Create an atmospheric mood: Small weddings are often more relaxed, which can lead to a more meaningful atmosphere between guests and couples alike. Consider having a live acoustic band play songs throughout the night or serving signature cocktails that represent you as a couple. These types of touches will create lasting memories and add an extra-special touch to the event.

Famous Locations in Brooklyn

  • The Remains of Abraham & Strauss Department Store
Abraham & Strauss was once a reliable indication of excellent customer service and taste, but now all that is left of the store rests in a decrepit Brooklyn shopping center. The chipped paint and stained floors are reminiscent of when the store was crowded with shoppers eager to find fashionable clothing. Today, however, A&S is only a tiny part of what it used to be. Though its time as a premier department store has come and gone, Abraham & Strauss serves as a reminder that good customer service and style never go out of fashion.

  • House of Wax
This unique bar contains an incredible collection of turn-of-the-century anatomical wax figures. The last time this collection was seen was in 1920s Berlin before being brought to the US by Dr. Siegfried Koening in the early 1930s. Dr. Koening was a medical doctor and an expert on human anatomy. He used wax figures to teach medical students about the human body. The collection includes over 200 wax figures, many of which are life-size. The figures are made from beeswax and are very realistic. They are arranged in different scenes, such as a surgery scene, a childbirth scene, and an autopsy scene. The bar also has a collection of vintage medical instruments on display.

  • Site of Joe Gallo's 1950s Headquarters
Joe Gallo was a tough guy, and he didn't take any nonsense from anyone. So when the city decided to replace a sewer line near his Brooklyn headquarters in the 1960s, he wasn't going to just sit around and let them do it. He launched an all-out mob war that led to the death of a city worker and the demolition of 33 buildings. But even though his old haunts are gone, you can still take a walking tour of some of them. Just be sure to watch your back.
