This space is great for meeting and prep. It isn't sound proof so sometimes you can hear the activities of the other rooms. I was told this during the tour so it was no surprise when it happened. The staff is so nice and helpful. I have no complaints about this facility.

Absolutely LOVED shooting here! The location was great, even larger than it looked in the pictures, tons of natural light and different spaces to use, but most of all, Keith went above and beyond the call of duty from the moment we first messaged until the last C-Stand was loaded onto the grip truck. He helped us get our documents in order, helped us scout and pre-light, helped with setup, prep, and even shooting, and pretty much deserved a producer credit for the work he did. All the while sporting a great attitude. Truly one of the greats! This was was easily the best location experience I've had in my 16 years of making movies and tv shows.

About New York

New York is an iconic city known worldwide for its big-city glamour. It has been home to many influential people, from Mark Twain and Babe Ruth to Jay-Z and Beyoncé. The City of New York was founded by Dutch settlers in 1626 and was named after the Duke of York. Boasting a population of over 8 million and more than 300 square miles, it isn't hard to see why this major town is the most densely populated in North America and one of the most diverse on Earth. From fashion to finance, food to culture, art to entertainment, New York City truly has it all. The Big Apple is also home to the world's first underground railroad line, which ran from 1807-1847 and helped hundreds of African Americans escape slavery.

Several options are available for filmmakers looking to film in commercial office spaces in New York City. What makes shooting at an urban office location so appealing is its proximity to other nearby attractions. Filmmakers can easily transition from an exterior shot of skyscrapers in downtown Manhattan to an interior one of a boardroom on Wall Street in just minutes - no matter what time of day or night. This, combined with New York's unique blend of historic architecture and modern design, makes it an ideal place for shooting commercial films or television shows. Whether it’s a boutique workspace in Soho or a coworking spot on the Upper West Side, filmmakers can discover any office setup they need in New York City.

Pros and Cons of Commercial Office Events in New York

Filming in a commercial office space in New York City can provide many advantages and disadvantages for the production team. Here is a list:

Advantages

  • The most apparent advantage of filming in a commercial office space is the potential for an authentic backdrop. With offices ranging from traditional corporate spaces to modern start-up hubs, many options are available to fit any production’s needs. It also has added convenience since these locations often have furniture, props, and equipment already onsite.

  • Another pro is the potential cost savings of using an existing space instead of building one from scratch. These places often have very reasonable rental fees compared to custom sets or studio locations, which will save money on production costs over time.

  • Finally, since many commercial office buildings are located near public transportation hubs, they are easily accessible to crew members and actors alike, making it much easier to ensure everyone arrives on time.

Disadvantages

  • One of the drawbacks of filming is the potential for disruption from employees or other tenants within the building. This can lead to distractions or delays during the process, which can be time-consuming if not appropriately managed.

  • In some cases, it can also be complicated to maintain control over outside noise levels due to street traffic or other architecture nearby – making it difficult for certain scenes which require silence or limited sound levels.

  • Finally, depending on how long you’re looking to film at one location, you may find yourself running up against restrictions from your landlord, such as noise curfews or policies around “nonproduction” activities like eating or smoking on site, all of which must be taken into consideration when planning your shoot ahead of time.

Tips on How to Organize Commercial Office Events in New York

Filming at commercial office spaces in New York can be a complex process. Here are some tips to help you organize the process:

  • Select a reputable production company: This will ensure that all necessary permits, such as those required by the NYPD Film Unit and other local authorities, are obtained and that filming operations run within the laws. Check references and ask for quotes before signing any contracts.

  • Research the area beforehand: You must do an extensive investigation on the location you plan to film in, as this will help you decide if it is suitable for your production needs. Researching local regulations and speaking to neighbors or business owners before filming can help avoid potential issues with locals.

  • Obtain proper permits: Take time to understand which permits are required for your project and give yourself plenty of time (at least one month) to apply for them. It is also important to ensure that these permits allow access to public spaces for any exterior shots you may need.
