Lakeview Getaway - Historic Charm in Chicago
My recently updated apartment is in one of Chicago's hottest neighborhoods (Lakeview). The building was built in 1884, before this area was formally annexed into Chicago (in 1889)! While records no longer exist, the building has been converted several times since then. You'll see from the photos that it's been updated quite a bit boasting modern furniture and amenities. While refreshing this space, we kept an eye on preserving original details to give you a unique blend of historical charm with modern conveniences. We look forward to hosting you and your group!

The Ingersoll-Blackwelder House is located in the Ridge Historic District that includes the Beverly Hills and Morgan Park Neighborhoods in Chicago, Illinois.
It was built between 1874 and 1877 by Morgan Park’s developer, the Blue Island Land and Building Company, for grain broker John E. Ingersoll and his wife, Harriet Ingersoll.
The front of the home is in the Queen Anne style while the back of the home has Italianate elements. The Queen Anne style front was added by the subsequent owner after the Ingersolls, Morgan Park Village President Isaac Blackwelder. Mr. Blackwelder served as a chief of the Western Department of the Niagara Fire Insurance Company of New York. His wife, Gertrude Blackwelder was a founder of the Morgan Park Women's Club and a member of the community's school board. She was the first woman to cast a vote in a local election.
The Ingersoll-Blackwelder House is considered a contributing building located within the Ridge Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Dramatic Industrial Space - Highly Flexible Format
The location is a stand-alone, one entire floor, brick building on a prominent corner in a diverse and busy neighborhood (bustling foot and street traffic). It has floor to ceiling windows along the length of one side of the building - and the same style of a window on a quarter of the other side of the building from the corner.
The building has storefront feel from the outside with wide sidewalks surrounding it, and the inside is an industrial loft with 15 ft high ceilings.
The feeling one gets upon entering is approachable, clean, comfortable, inviting, home-spun, yet structured. The main area is flexible to move furniture in order to create a special feature or look (event, etc.). We have three large community tables that hold up to 8 people each and several smaller flex tables (9 of them) to use for staging, etc.
There are three semi-private conference rooms that can fit 2-6 people and a large telephone booth with a full-sized desk for staging, make-up, telephone calls, etc. There are areas with sofas and sitting chairs to relax (lounge areas - also with high top tables with chairs).
There is a full prep kitchen to prepare and store food (refrigerator, microwave oven, and toaster oven) and a kitchen counter that comfortably seats up to 6)
There are large walls on which to hang or lean panels and also an exposed wood-beamed ceiling from which one can hang reasonably-sized panels or objects.
We have the following amenities on site: filtered water cooler, professional coffee maker for coffee and tea (and the coffee and tea), PrintWithMe (print, scan, and copy capable), high -speed wifi (300), a single-person restroom, and free snacks.
