Hawkeye Dome House
Hawkeye House, featured on the cover of the May 2019 issue of Dwell Magazine, is an off grid Geodesic Dome that sits on 112 acres in the high desert. This unique and modern home has been fully remodeled with an attention to both comfort and detail. Amazing hikes and privacy are abundant here. Most people never even leave the property.
Inside the dome you will find a gorgeous chef's kitchen. Outside are a BBQ, fireplace, and never-ending hiking trails. Almost every detail was handcrafted, from the custom cabinetry to the wood trim to the welded loft railing. The property contains thousands of Joshua trees and yucca plants, it has hills, mountains, boulders and probably the best views in the area. The structure was fully renovated in 2017 with a minimalist modern interior while still keeping to the futuristic 60's vibe of the Dome. The property is off grid so there are no power lines. We use sustainable solar panels and batteries to provide power. It is also only 7 minutes from the main highway with many antique shops, convenience stores and restaurants.
As mentioned, the property is very large. It's hard to describe exactly where the boundaries are, but in general, you can walk and hike wherever you don't see other fences, houses or areas that look private.
Other things to note
-We are powered by solar panels and battery backup. This shouldn’t affect anything but sometimes the generator does kick-in.
-Although it is a dirt road and it may get bumpy, you DO NOT need a 4x4. Drive 5mph at all times.
The ancestor house An architectural gem
An architectural gem. Built by hand from boulders gathered by the surrounding mountains during the 60s and 70s, floor to ceiling windows. This property has 5 acres to roam around.
Joshua Tree Boulders
Beautiful rock formations, hilltops and 360 degree views on an open valley. Just 5 minutes off the 29 Palms highway, this 5 acres is in Yucca Valley close to border with Joshua Tree and has breathtaking views.
On the other side of the hill stands a burning man jungle gym type climbable structure, about 16 ft tall, it's part of the property and available for shoots.
A gorgeous bamboo day bed overlooks the valley beneath.
This property can resemble the Joshua Tree National Park (no Joshua trees though, except for a couple very small ones).
