  • Many attractions

  • Great location

  • Pleasant weather
Washington D.C. has rather mild weather. With four distinct seasons, you can be sure to enjoy a cool fall, brisk winter, breezy spring, and pleasant summer. Unlike further south where frying eggs on concrete is possible, or further north where full snow suits are required for half of the year, Washington D.C. has an enjoyable mix of every season.

  • Local events
There’s always something going on in Washington D.C., you just have to figure out what you’re interested in! Whether you’re a wino looking for a fun tasting around the area, or a pottery nerd wanting to throw clay on the Mall’s lawn, rest assured that you can find a (typically free!!) event that perfectly matches your interests!

  • Traffic
Though Washington D.C.’s population is around 600,000, the weekdays can see an influx of commuters, boosting the number of people in the area up to over 1,000,000. This nearly doubled population size during the weekdays can lead to some crazy traffic, which may be a nuisance for your event.

  • Quiet ambiance
Some Washington D.C. residents have noticed how serious some typically loud and loose environments can feel, especially as you get closer to the US Capitol. If you are used to cities that seem to echo your party, like New Orleans or Nashville, you may be put off by the quiet whispers and side glances you and your group may garner in Washington D.C.

  • Cost of amenities
The cost of food, venues, lodging, and entertainment can all skyrocket in Washington D.C., meaning your party budget may not stretch quite as far here. Make sure to look into local businesses to gauge prices before committing to a birthday party in Washington D.C.

  • Tourists
Depending on the time of year you go to Washington D.C., you could run into a large crowd of tourists, especially at high traffic tourist stops like national monuments or famous restaurants. Typically, warmer weather is more conducive to traveling, so make sure to take tourists into account when planning your birthday party, especially in the spring and summer.

  • Public transportation
While there are plenty of public transportation options in Washington D.C., it also has one of the most complex bus and train systems, meaning it can be hard to navigate if you are not a D.C. native.
