Great location by FWY, mgmt was super helpful and responsive. Hosted a 21st Birthday party with live music and hosted bar. Indoor space was perfect for sit-down dining and spacious outdoor space was ideal for dancing and mingling. Overall experience was amazing would definitely recommend for a small function. The only downside is parking is either metered or free street parking. Other than that this is perfect for your next function.

We hosted my wife’s 40th birthday celebration at the Refined Venue in Pasadena. I’m happy to say the venue and its management not only met, but exceeded our expectations. All of our 65-70 guests in attendance, especially my wife, had a great time. The venue was the perfect size for our group. It accommodated all the tables and chairs we needed along with the DJ and 10-piece marching band we hired to perform. The one thing I recommend prospective customers to look out for is the on site parking at the venue. It is not free parking, as the lot is owned by the city of Pasadena. You need to pay the parking fee using a QR code with your cell phone. The management of the revenue made that abundantly clear before we rented the venue. It is best to let your guests know ahead of time about the parking situation to avoid getting expensive parking tickets by the city parking enforcement. Overall, the venue and its management were excellent and I highly recommend contacting them for your next big event!

About Pasadena

The beautiful city of Pasadena is located in Southern California at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains in the county of Los Angeles. Nicknamed “The City of Roses” (not to be confused with Portland, Oregon who also shares the same nickname), Pasadena is well known for their yearly Rose Parade and famous college football championship game the “Rose Bowl” which both attract thousands of visitors every year.

The weather in Pasadena is one of the biggest draws to the area with tons of sunny days and temps between 50 and 90 throughout the year, it’s no wonder this LA city is a coveted location in which to get married. Whether you’re looking to tie the knot in a futuristic rooftop terrace, or a 19th century castle, Pasadena is going to provide a beautiful atmosphere for your big day.

  • Event Planners

You want your big day to run as smoothly as possible. That’s why it is important to get yourself an event planner. Someone to work with you to organize your special day the way you envisioned it, and leave you to simply enjoy your celebration the way you are supposed to.

Pros and Cons of Weddings in Pasadena

Advantages

  • 300 days of sunshine

If you enjoy soaking up those wonderful sunbeams and working on that tan, Pasadena has around 300 days of sunshine every year!

  • Close to LA

Being only 10 miles from LA, Pasadena is in a prime location. Removed enough from the hustle and bustle of city life, but close enough where you can party in the City of Angels after the wedding.

  • Venue options

Whether you are looking to have a small intimate wedding or an extravagant celebration, Pasadena has a variety of venues to choose from.

  • Thriving culture

Pasadena boasts a full calendar of events happening all throughout the year. These events celebrate the many cultures of the residents of Pasadena and are a big draw for visitors.

  • The great outdoors

Before, after, or maybe even during the wedding, you can experience the great natural outdoor areas of Pasadena in their parks, gardens, and forests.

Disadvantages

  • Heat

While 300 days of sunshine may “look” enticing, it will bring with it some heat. Plus, Los Angeles isn’t known for being the coolest city in the USA. If you get really uncomfortable in the heat, you may want to reconsider this location.

  • Beach is too far away

If you came to this LA town for the beach, you’re not going to be happy. Pasadena is 124 miles (roughly 2.5 hour drive) from the beach.

  • Smaller city

Some people prefer to be part of the lively commotion of a bigger city like downtown LA. While Pasadena is technically in LA, it is much less busy than the city.

  • 40 min to LAX

While this may not be a super long drive for LA standards, being at least 40 minutes away from the airport may cause some stress for visiting wedding guests. The Burbank Airport is smaller but closer to Pasadena.

  • Limited parking

As this is more of a walking town, Pasadena wedding guests might have a harder time finding parking near the venue.

Famous Locations in Pasadena

  • Norton Simon Museum

If museums are more your style, Pasadena has a good many to choose from, though none as renowned as the Norton Simon Museum. With over 12,000 pieces of art from all over Europe spanning over 2,000 years of humanity, Norton Simon Museum is a must-see for Pasadena art lovers. Are you a fan of history and days gone by? Book a gorgeous English Tudor house in Pasadena for a wedding that takes you back in time.

  • Civic Center

Maybe the most popular entertainment venue in Pasadena, the Civic Center is home to festivals, major events, and famous acts like “America’s Got Talent”. The Civic Center District has been the setting for many movie and tv show filmings as well.

  • Old Pasadena

A town’s history is its legacy, and Old Pasadena is no exception. This historic downtown area is a hub for shopping, dining, and classic arcade gaming.
