1927 French, ivy-covered turret, brick home
Salt Lake City, UT
Our home was built in 1927. It is located on a tree-lined Harvard avenue and is part of the historic home district in salt lake city. It is a french gothic brick home with a ivy covered turrett. We remodeld our entire home in 2015 and tried to keep the historic nature of the home while at the same time updating and making it feel light and cozy. Our home has original stained glass windows and a coffered ceiling in the entry. Wood floors exist through the home and the basement is carpeted in new wool carpet. The bathrooms are all updated in marble and tile. The kitchen is a traditional galley kitchen with a charming breakfast nook with a soapstone table and cozy nook with pillows. The kitchen features a LaCornue range and apron-style sink. White marble countertops and brass fixtures give the kitchen an old-world French style feel. We have a traditional dining room and living room. The living room also function as a music room and library. The living room also features a big fireplace with a stone mantle piece from England. Our home also has a private office, family/tv room, 3 kids bedrooms, a master bedroom with a new gas fireplace, a large finished and usable attic, winding staircases and two walk in closets. Our home is located on a beautiful and charming tree-lined street. The trees are large and wind all the way down Harvard avenue - making for a spectacular autumn, spring and summer display. The winter is especially beautiful when the snow falls. The home sits on .15 of an acre. Our front and backyard are landscaped with a vegetable garden, courtyard for eating, swingset and trampoline and fire pit. We love our home so much and would love to share it with other people!
