Crazy amazing space in a downtown office building. We felt like we were opening the door into the past, into the coolest 50s diner. Parking was easy, right next door, and building security allowed us to unload into the lobby, and kept an eye on it, until moving all equipment up in the elevator. The space was clean and filled with so many cool diner props. Debbie was also so amazing. So accessible. From the moment I booked the space. We booked for 4 hours, but needed an extra 3. Every hour I asked her if we could extend another hour and within seconds, so replied yes. Awesome experience! I rate them 10 out of 10.

About Diner Locations

Diners are a classic and nostalgic American restaurant setting, providing a unique and charming atmosphere for events. While they may have the reputation of being old-fashioned, vintage diners have been transformed into modern spaces with updated decor, technology, and amenities that can accommodate any occasion. With its eclectic decor, diners make an excellent backdrop for any event or photo shoot.

The main feature of most diners is their open-plan kitchen where guests can watch the food being prepared by their friendly staff. This can be incredibly enjoyable for parties as well as providing an interesting focal point during video shoots or other creative projects. Depending on the guest's preferences, a diner could be the perfect place for an elegant evening dining experience or an all-out buffet featuring traditional diner fare like breakfast foods. Many diners also feature booths or tables with comfortable seating for guests to enjoy throughout the event, as well as music equipment such as jukeboxes which can be used to set the tone for special occasions like birthday parties or anniversaries. With multi-room spaces and customizable aesthetics, diners provide versatility, as well as a relaxed atmosphere that guests will appreciate.

The Best Events for Diner Locations

  • Cocktail Parties
Diners provide an old-fashioned ambiance that makes them ideal for cocktail parties. With its bright lights, checkered floors, and booths, diners make for excellent venues for these types of events. The space is often open enough to set up tables, chairs, and a bar, making it easy to accommodate more than just one group at once. Guests can mingle over drinks while enjoying tasty American fares like burgers, hot dogs, and milkshakes.

  • Karaoke Nights
For those looking to add more energy and excitement to their event, karaoke nights are always enjoyable choices. Hosting karaoke at a diner lends itself perfectly since it already has the stage setup needed to get things going. Guests can enjoy using top-of-the-line audio equipment to showcase their singing skills with a variety of song options ranging from classic tunes to current hits. An experienced karaoke host helps keep things running smoothly as everyone belts out their favorite tunes in between bites of tasty food from the menu.

  • Birthday Celebrations
For those looking for a fun and nostalgic way to celebrate their special day, renting out a diner is always a hit. Diners offer private seating areas for groups, as well as classic quintessential dishes like hamburgers, milkshakes, and french fries that are sure to bring back fond memories from childhood. With so many seating options and different types of food available, everyone can find something they'll like while partying around the jukebox or pool table.

  • Movie Nights
Movie nights in a diner can be a fun way to spend time together with friends or family. Guests can enjoy their favorite snacks and beverages while they watch a film on the big screen. To make it more exciting, this event could include playing classic movies from the ‘50s or ‘60s or showcasing up-and-coming independent filmmakers on a projector screen. Adding some vintage decor to the diner would set the perfect atmosphere for this nostalgic experience.

What to Look for in Diner Locations

  • Ambiance
Be aware of what kind of atmosphere the diner venue has, and whether or not it evokes nostalgia for classic diners of the past. Consider the decor, lighting, music, and overall energy when assessing how well it will fit with the type of event you’re planning.

  • Services Offered
Think about what kinds of services the diner offers that would make your event or project successful. Be aware of whether or not they have a full bar, or if serving alcohol is even allowed. See if the diner has private rooms available for meetings or presentations, and if they have waitstaff ready at hand to serve and set tables. When renting the diner, see if they also provide catering services for your event or if you need to have your own food delivered from an outside source.

  • Accessibility
Make sure that the diner is easily accessible to all of your guests in terms of both transportation and physical access needs. Consider if public transportation is nearby and whether there is parking available onsite or nearby. Also, research any accessibility features if needed — wheelchair ramps, elevators, etc.— to ensure everyone can participate in your event comfortably.

  • Space Layout
Take into account the layout of the space when deciding on a diner for your project. Create a guest list so that you can confirm whether or not the space will have enough room for everyone. Also, be sure to find out whether or not you are allowed to reconfigure tables at will if need be. Make sure you confirm that the setup at the restaurant meets your needs before booking anything.

How to Make a Diner Event Better

  • Choose a Theme
Events are more memorable when they have a theme or common activity to focus on. Whether it’s choosing a specific type of food to serve or playing interactive games during the meal, having something that ties all your guests together can make the event stand out from typical dinners in diners.

  • Design an Invitation
An invitation should be sent out in advance of the event with detailed information about the location, time, dress code, and directions when applicable. This can help ensure that everyone knows what to expect on the day of the event and will help make for a smooth transition once guests arrive at the diner location.

  • Create an Inviting Ambiance
Use decorations such as colorful streamers and tablecloths to help make the environment more festive and inviting. Consider incorporating music or background noise if the diner permits it. You could even consider playing some games with your guests during dinner to help break the ice or keep things lively while they eat.

  • Set Up Entertainment
Depending on the type of event you are hosting, consider setting up entertainment such as live music or games to keep everyone engaged throughout their meal experience. This is especially helpful if a large number of people will be attending, as it helps ensure no one gets bored and keeps conversations going between tables.

  • Offer Something Special
To really make the dinner special consider offering something unique such as an after-dinner surprise like karaoke, dessert platters, or even photo booths. Going above and beyond with these small touches can often leave a lasting impression on your guests while ensuring they have a great time at the event.
