Jill was very communicative, a pleasure to work with and her site rep, Bobbi, was very accommodating. Jill did a great job of giving location instructions and resources: if you are booking production vehicles, note that the driveway is up a hill and some low hanging branches will prevent production cubes from parking in the driveway. She has plenty of advice and options to make your needs work, though, which was so appreciated!

Loved shooting in this space! So quirky and fun and Jamie was very welcoming. Only thing I would note is the aircon is in the dining room but not the main living. Would have been good for us to know as we were using a gorilla suit lol. But otherwise everything was just awesome, clean and easily accessible :-)

Very accommodating and friendly hosts! The person who showed us the space did not accurately tell us which areas in the house were usable but we were able to work with it on the day/

Everything was awesome. We contracted Ryan in a last ditch effort to locate a retro vibe shoot location for a fixed date and time for our new Tribute Act. He worked with us to make it happen. We got it all done and are super happy with how everything worked out. Very communicative, and the place was super clean and accessible. Great location!

The interior spaces of art deco locations often feature beautiful features such as sweeping staircases, grand chandeliers, and large balconies overlooking the main event space. These visual details provide a sense of grandeur and help to set the tone for any gathering. In addition, many art deco locations are equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and technology, ensuring your event runs smoothly and looks fantastic on camera.

Furthermore, art deco locations boast versatile outdoor spaces, ready to host any event, from a dinner party or barbecue to a cocktail hour. The Best Events for Art Deco Locations

  • Wedding Reception
A wedding reception in an art deco location can be a truly dazzling experience. With ample space, warm lighting, and beautiful decor, the bride and groom will have the perfect atmosphere to celebrate their special day. For added effect, hosts can choose pieces of furniture that add to the art deco vibe, such as leather armchairs, couches, and even grand pianos. Traditional activities like dinner, dancing, and speeches can take place here.
  • A Vintage-Themed Cocktail Party
This is an ideal event for art deco locations as the aesthetic of a vintage cocktail party can be easily achieved. Guests can dress in classic vintage attire and enjoy cocktails from that era, such as The Paul Jones, whiskey sours, and Ward 8s. There are plenty of live music options to choose from, whether it's a swing or jazz band. And if guests want to take it up another notch, they can opt for a live DJ spinning vintage tunes.
  • A High Tea Party
High tea parties have existed for centuries but remain popular today - primarily in art deco locations. Such events allow guests to bond over traditional teas like English Breakfast tea or Earl Grey with various accompaniments such as finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries. As part of the festivities, other activities could be involved, like playing board games or having fun photo booths that capture these special moments forever.
  • Gala Dinner
Gala dinners have become more popular over recent years as organizations look to recognize notable achievements in luxe settings like art deco venues. These venues typically come equipped with chandeliers, vaulted ceilings, and other intricate details, which help create a decadent dining experience for guests who often dress to impress for these formal occasions. Live musical performances during dinner can also add a touch of glamour, allowing guests to enjoy their meal while swaying along to classical music or upbeat jazz tunes between courses.

What to Look for in Art Deco Locations

  • Historical Preservation
It would be best to look for art deco buildings that have been maintained and preserved instead of restored or renovated. These locations will be a great way to pay homage to the original architecture while offering modern amenities.
  • Architecture
Art Deco buildings typically feature ornate designs, curved lines, and geometric shapes. Pay attention to the detailing on the building’s façade and interior spaces. Many art deco locations are sprinkled with references to the Art Moderne style, which includes elements like metal railings and metal-paneled doors.
  • Location & Accessibility
Consider how easy it is for people to get to your event from various points of origin. If you’re looking for an indoor venue with plenty of parking nearby, keep your eyes open for those options. It’s also vital to ensure transportation is available if some attendees arrive without a vehicle.
  • Amenities & Services
What types of amenities will be offered at the location? Does it come equipped with necessary technology such as audio/visual equipment? Are there enough bathrooms? Is there an outdoor area that can be used if needed? Be sure to factor in these details before signing a contract with any potential venue.

How to Make Art Deco Events Better

  • Choose a Venue with an Art Deco Design: Selecting a venue with an art deco design will set the tone for the entire event. Look for locations with unique architectural elements such as intricate moldings, arched doorways, geometric patterns, and other ornate details commonly found in art deco buildings.

  • Incorporate Art Deco Elements: Incorporate art deco themes and aesthetics throughout the decorations for a cohesive look. Hang paintings and photographs of 1920s-era scenes or classic cars, use table linens with geometric prints, incorporate chrome accents and mirrors into your decor, have a backdrop featuring flapper fringe and feathers, and scatter crystals across tables for an added sparkle.

  • Add Jazz Music to Set the Mood: The roaring twenties were marked by jazz music! Hire a live band or deejay to bring this classic sound to your event. Encourage guests to dress up in their favorite flapper or gangster costume and get ready to dance the night away.

  • Serve Classic Cocktails & Finger Foods: A great way to capture the essence of the era is through food and drinks. Serve prohibition-era cocktails such as Old Fashioneds, Tom Collins, Manhattans, Sidecars, and more while passing around trays of hors d’oeuvres like deviled eggs, mini quiche, stuffed mushrooms, and smoked salmon canapés.

  • Have Fun Activities Available: To appeal to all guests (young and old), have some fun activities prepared for everyone's enjoyment. Set up a photo booth with props from the period or organize games such as charades that will be a hit.
