Welcome to Brooklyn Optics, our historic four-story building in Williamsburg, a 1920s industrial space that blends rich history with modern production possibilities. Perfect for projects with abandoned, haunted, or vacant settings, our complex also provides an acoustically controlled environment ideal for audio recordings and interviews, thanks to its solid brick and concrete construction.
Our authentic location has drawn major productions, including those by BBC, FOX News, and Cosmopolitan. Previously home to a thriving woodworking and production company, the space still operates a multi-material workshop. Our collection of unique vintage props, along with access to vintage materials, adds character to any display or set design.
Today, the workshop serves as a community resource, where I volunteer to teach woodworking, craft skills, and hand tool techniques. Our space even extends to three rooftop gardens, where I share gardening skills and hands-on creations.
Beyond what the pictures can show, this space absolutely oozes with character, vibe, and history. Andres, the owner, is also incredible to work with and was personally onsite to help ensure that we had everything we needed for a successful shoot. Highly recommended!
A very versatile space with lots of character. Andre was helpful and was there to provide assistance throughout our production. Also helpful that he had a lot of gear on hand.
Great space for doing interviews and recording sound, the space is well insulated from outside noise, you wouldn't think it being an old warehouse.

Andre is a fantastic host, and a wealth of knowledge. The space is almost like a museum. We had a prolonged interview process 6 hours, the space with its soundproof windows proved to be ideal for our audio needs of a continual conversation without breaks. Given its NYC, the whole process of ease parking, loading dock, freight elevator and ample room to spread out production gear proved to be invaluable. We will definitely be back for another project!
