Please plug in your numbers to calculate your base rate in the Giggster widget. About the Bronx

Located north of Manhattan and south of Westchester County lies the Bronx, and this is a local gem to so many. The Bronx is the third most populated county in the country, and that speaks volumes when it lies outside of New York City.

There is so much rich history here as seen in the landmarks contained throughout the city. The Bronx is well known for being home to the New York Yankees Stadium, as well as the Bronx Zoo. These are attractions that tourists flock to see each year.

The Bronx was the last of 62 counties to be incorporated, and it grew in popularity very quickly. It is an urban area with inexpensive housing, and this is perhaps why so many have moved here from the city.

Though it is a highly-populated area, about a quarter of the area here is still open space. This is due to the historic landmarks and outdoor spaces, and this all contributes to making the Bronx a very unique and desirable destination to visit. It is another reason why a video shoot location in the Bronx is such a great idea.

Pros and Cons of Video Shoot Locations in the Bronx

Advantages

  • Great diversity
If you think of one thing that truly and wholly represents the Bronx it is the diversity of the overall area. There is a high Hispanic population but there are so many other wonderful cultures represented here too.

  • Easy to get around
Thanks to public transportation and manageable traffic, you will find that it’s quite easy to get around here. You can even get into the city without too much trouble as public transportation is very accessible.

  • Beautiful attractions
What a lot of people don’t realize about the Bronx is that there is a lot of great history here. This is reflected in the beautiful attractions that are on hand for you to check out.

Disadvantages

  • Few jobs
This is an area that tends to be predominantly industrial, so the job market as a whole outside of that hasn’t been great. This can affect your ability to find the local talent that you need for your Bronx video shoot location.

  • Long commutes
Some will say that there is really no need to get to the city on a regular basis because you have everything you need within the Bronx. If you do need to get into the city for work or personal reasons, the commute can take a while.

  • Some crime areas
The crime rate and revitalization are improving, but it takes time. That means that there are some areas of town that aren’t exactly desirable or the best to be in.

Famous Locations in the Bronx

  • Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum
The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum is the last of the mansions from this time period still standing, and there is some excellent history in that. It is now owned by the state of New York and has tours that are worth checking out to fully understand this era. This is one place historians don’t want to miss.

  • Bronx Little Italy
When you come to the Bronx Little Italy, you see a strong representation of Italian culture in the many restaurants and businesses in the area. This is an area where a lot of business is conducted and has an old-world feel to it, much as it was when it was established in the post-war era.

  • Enid A. Haupt Conservatory
This Victorian glass greenhouse is part of the New York Botanical Garden, but it stands alone as its own attraction. The Enid A. Haupt Conservatory holds the World of Plants Exhibition and is home to the infamous Orchid Festival. There is much rich history within this conservatory, and it is a gorgeous destination to check out when you are in the Bronx.
