I shoot youtube content here and have had nothing but good experiences. It’s private, it’s parking, and HUGE for the price. You can’t beat it.

The Production space was very spacious which allowed our crew to perform as needed. Although the environment around the production space is seen as unsafe, Alan was very responsible in terms of security and his team was responsive/helpful when we wanted to communicate.

This space is a perfect place to have a nice small get together. Eli is an awesome host he made sure I was take care of as well my guest who came to attend. I would definitely book this space again and tell all my friends about it. The price was very reasonable too. There was nothing I would do differently everything went well with no problems. This studio space had a lot more to offer than what we expected. In our case we were there for a video shoot and originally we just needed a space to set up a backdrop and shoot in front of. But once we toured the studio, we realized there were so many different ideas that we can come up with on the spot. It was the perfect place to improvise while also getting done what we originally had in mind. Would definitely recommend.

Great space. Alan was nice and easy to work with. I was running a bit late, but he was super understanding. The space was the perfect size to use a car. Good lighting and quiet. Thanks Al!

About Oakland

The Athletics, Kamala Harris, and one end of the Golden Gate Bridge all call Oakland home. It was once filled with oak trees, scattered across the grassy plain. While many of these have been replaced by houses, businesses, and other structures, you can still find some of the trees that gave the city its name throughout its streets and parks.

Oakland is a port city – the busiest one in northern California – and home to about 440,000 people. The port is one of the dominant features of the economy, with an estimated 99% of container goods in California entering the state here. Other companies, from Kaiser Permanente and Clorox to Ask.com and Pandora call the city home as well.

Photo Studio Space Options in Oakland

It’s easy to understand why the photo studio spaces in Oakland are so popular. The city has a vibrant economy, beautiful location, unique architecture, and a thriving population. These all create a place where photography and artistic genius can thrive and be supported.

  • Catering
Catering companies in Oakland are as diverse and interesting as the people living in the city, and the cuisine they will cater at your photo studio space will be just as special. The caterers have ample experience working with projects both big and small and will ensure that you have what you need for a filling and fulfilling meal.

  • Furniture Rentals
Sometimes you need a big, comfortable couch in your studio or a lighting set that speaks to you to help make the project feel complete or give the design effects you’re looking for. Rather than shipping everything to Oakland, you can use one of the furniture or equipment rental companies in the city to fill the gap.

  • Transportation
The San Francisco Bay Area has a reputation for bad traffic. Really bad traffic. You can be part of the solution instead of the problem though. Sure, there’s public transportation. But private transportation is more efficient too because the driver knows exactly where you need to be and can get you there more efficiently than you can. They know exactly when and where to turn, the possible shortcuts, and when to delay your photo studio time.

Photo Studio Space Companies in Oakland

Each of these photo studio space companies in Oakland made it onto our list because of their exceptional service and commitment to quality. Even better is that there’s a host of other companies that didn’t get included on this list because of space constraints, so you know that you’re in good hands when you’re in Oakland.

  • Everett and Jones
Everett and Jones Catering Company is famous for its soul food, Southern barbecue, and live music. Fortunately, they also offer catering if you can’t make it to the restaurant in person. They cater to all types of events, and their menu includes all the favorites from their restaurant.

  • Element Camera
The right equipment is transformational for the results in a photo studio space, and Element Camera makes sure you have all the right lenses, cameras, and other equipment. They can also help with gimbals, grips, dollies, and other equipment.

  • 1st Classic
1st Classic is a private transportation company that has services throughout California, including to and from Oakland. They specialize in airport transport but can help with any travel logistics with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail.

Pros and Cons of Photo Studio Space in Oakland

Would a rose by any other name smell as sweet? It’s debatable. Instead of debating that topic though, how about a quick debate on the pros and cons of photo studio space in Oakland.

Advantages

  • Cultural opportunities
Oakland can hold its own when it comes to cultural opportunities. The restaurants, museums, entertainment, and nightlife are all sophisticated, fun, and consistently draw large crowds of locals and visitors.

  • Weather
We used to think those “best of” lists were just a joke until we experienced Oakland. You see, the city consistently ranks high on the list of cities with the best weather. Growing up in less-than-ideal climates, it was hard to believe that any place actually had consistently good weather. Oakland does. It’s moderate and sunny for most of the year.

  • Location is everything
Location is everything and when you select a photo studio space in Oakland, you have that covered. The advantages of easy travel, access to San Francisco, and the amenities within the city make it the perfect location for a number of projects.

Disadvantages

  • Sweltering heat
Most people spend a good chunk of their time hiding behind an air conditioner during the summer months in Oakland. The city has fantastic weather for most of the year, but the high temperatures (up to 109 degrees Fahrenheit) during July, August, and September make people flee indoors.

  • Traffic
The infrastructure in the city, both the interstates and secondary roads, couldn’t keep up with the growing population, and we’re all paying for that in time spent in traffic.

  • Must be the money
One of the disadvantages of Oakland must be the money, right, Nelly? Oakland is expensive and the taxes here are high too, with a 9.5% sales tax compared to the 7.5% in the rest of California. Increase your budget, it will be worth it.

Famous Locations in Oakland

  • Morcom Rose Garden
The Morcom Rose Garden is a must-see if you’re in the city from April through October. It’s a municipal space, and the eight-acres features over 6,000 rose bushes of numerous varieties. One of the coolest features and something you can’t see in every rose garden is the amphitheater of roses. There are walkways, fountains, a reflecting pool, and plenty of spaces to just sit and take it all in.

  • Lakeside Park
Morcom Rose Garden doesn’t have a corner on the beautiful garden market. One of our other favorites is Lakeside Park. It’s located within Lake Merritt, a tidal lagoon-turned lake with three miles of shoreline. Lakeside Park features numerous gardens including a Bonsai garden, succulent garden, Japanese garden, sensory garden, and more.

  • USS Potomac
Did you know that President Franklin D. Roosevelt had a presidential yacht while he was in office? The USS Potomac was used from 1934 to 1945 and now is docked in Oakland where it offers tours, cruises, and educational programs. They called it his floating White House. You will figure out why pretty quickly when you visit.
