I really enjoyed this space. It was perfect for what I was filming. The staff were super friendly and helpful, however, getting in touch with Lottie was a bit tricky. My understanding was that I rented the entire space, but once I got there I realized it was a cafe. Lottie never reached out to me beforehand and specified that they would keep the cafe open during my shoot. That was a little frustrating, but it worked out in the end.

A good sized space, clean and modern, great trendy neighborhood.

The space, and the neighborhood were perfect for a small art opening. The building has such character, the space felt like a professional gallery with a gritty downtown edge. The light from the window made for stunning photos, and the gallery light on a dimmer was cool and even, no dark spots or shadows. Photograph made the art look great, and my attendees were impressed and proud. The only downside was that the AC couldn’t stand up to a VERY hot day. Fans helped, and the AC definitely took the edge off and made it bearable. The ownership was very hands off but made sure we had everything we needed. As artists they understood my priorities. So happy with my experience!

Pros and Cons of Garden Baby Showers in New York

Not only do garden baby showers provide an outdoor setting for households and friends to gather, they also present a variety of advantages and disadvantages that need to be weighed before planning one.

Advantages

  • Beautiful natural backdrop: Garden baby showers can be held at any gorgeous outdoor locations throughout New York, from city parks to botanical gardens. As a result, the backdrop for the affair is stunning and suitable for families to enjoy.

  • More space: Outdoor areas generally have more capacity than indoor ones, which gives guests more room to mingle and allows for larger numbers of guests if desired.

  • Better ventilation: An open-air setting means air circulation is better than in an enclosed space, which can help reduce the risk of virus transmission and help guests feel more comfortable during warm weather.

Disadvantages

  • Vulnerability to inclement weather: Being outdoors means that garden baby showers are vulnerable to bad weather like rain or windy conditions – something that needs to be planned for by having access to alternative indoor spaces or rental tents with appropriate flooring and heating options.

  • Décor limitations: Outdoors have fewer décor options since some ornamentations may not withstand wind or precipitation. Additionally, certain pastimes, like games, may need modifications because of a lack of stable surfaces - tables or walls - to lean items against.

  • Additional safety considerations: The combination of children and pets running around while adults mill about can sometimes lead to potential safety risks that need additional attention when hosting an open-air event.

Tips on How to Organize Garden Baby Showers in New York

Organizing a garden baby shower event in NYC requires careful planning. So here are some tips.

  • Choose a Venue: Pick an outdoor venue, such as a park or rooftop terrace, with plenty of activity space and enough shade to protect guests from the sun. Check with the venue ahead of time if they offer any amenities such as chairs, tables, and decorations.

  • Send Invitations: Start by sending them out early so guests have enough time to plan their outfits and RSVP. Consider offering digital or paper invitations depending on your guest list’s preference. If applicable, include important details like the location, date, time, and dress code.

  • Plan Activities: Consider fun ventures you can present for guests, such as lawn games, photo booths, DIY crafts, or scavenger hunts in your chosen garden. Provide items like blankets or pillows for relaxing on the grass or soft music playing in the background.

  • Serve Refreshments: Keep guests refreshed during your garden party by serving light snacks and beverages like mocktails or fruit juices with straws instead of glassware. You can also choose treats incorporating a nature-inspired theme, like watermelon slices or flower-shaped cookies.

Famous Locations in New York

  • Irish Hunger Memorial
Nestled between towering skyscrapers and the glistening Hudson River lies a peculiar sight - a barren potato field and the remains of a 19th-century cottage. However, this seemingly out-of-place corner of Manhattan is a unique tribute to those who suffered during the Irish Famine of the 1840s. The Irish Hunger Memorial, designed by the talented artist Brian Tolle, is a quarter-acre of Ireland in the heart of bustling Battery Park. Along the winding path to the monument's centerpiece - a historic stone cottage imported from County Mayo - visitors will be greeted by 32 rocks, each engraved with the name of an Irish county. The solemnity of the space serves as a powerful reminder of the tragedy of the Famine and the indomitable spirit of the Irish people.
  • Financial District (FiDi)
If you're searching for the beating heart of finance in the United States, you need to look no further than FiDi. So it should come as no surprise that young professionals in the industry flock to this neighborhood like bees to honey.
