Great experience working with Vagabond. The communication and booking was prompt and clear. When we arrived, the house was set up as requested. There was a designated staging area with rolling racks, tables and everything we needed for HMU. The driveway is huge and accommodated our whole team. Vagabond was on site all day to assist with any requests we had to rearrange furniture, provide supplies, recommend lunch. It was a stress free experience at a stunning location! I would highly recommend.

This was an amazing experience! Let me begin by saying that this home is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for our video shoot. We needed that warm and charming feel for this production and this home was exactly that and more! The owners were so wonderful and very accommodating throughout the entire shoot. They were available at all times to answer questions and help us with anything we needed. We can’t thank them enough for the warm welcome and hospitality during our time there. I highly recommend this location!

Pros and Cons of Film Shoot Venues in New Rochelle

Even New Rock, with all its pluses, has some downsides. So, here are the pros and cons of film shoot venues in New Rochelle.

Advantages

  • Safety first
New Rochelle is one of the safest cities in the state of New York, and that’s a nice feeling when you’re headed out for an early morning shoot or finishing up late in the evening. It consistently ranks as one of the safest cities, so no need to worry about anything here.

  • Cost
Your film shoot venue project will cost less in New Rochelle than it would in New York City, saving you some money on your bottom line that can be re-allocated to another area of your project.

  • Urban feel
New Rock feels like a city (and technically is a city), but you get all that urban feel without the millions of other people. That’s a definite bonus and allows greater flexibility and increased enjoyment of the location.

Disadvantages

  • Traffic
Ah, New York traffic. No matter how you plan a trip in Westchester County and around New York City, the traffic always seems to be a bit challenging. The eastern seaboard has a lot of people in a small geographic area. Traffic is a way of life.

  • Cost
Yes, the cost is an advantage and disadvantage in New Rochelle. It depends on how you look at it. The advantage is that the film shoot venues here are more economical than they are in New York City. The disadvantage is that you still need to budget more to work here than you would in other cities around the country.

  • Weather
Spring and fall are fantastic. Plan ahead for summer and winter. The summers can be hot and humid, with Long Island Sound being the saving grace. Winters are cold and snowy. This creates some travel challenges depending on what Mother Nature has planned.
