Los Angeles has never felt more Zen. Nestled in Topanga Canyon, this location seems as if it were carved from a sacred mountain. It's within the studio zone, yet it feels like a different country entirely. Brian was easy to communicate with, and his staff was both helpful and knowledgeable. While parking is limited, a nearby church lot is available for rent for cast and crew.

The view from the 19th floor offers exceptional production value that's hard to find at an affordable price. When securing your film permit, it's wise to purchase posted parking since this is an urban area. The site representative was knowledgeable and helpful. With two entry/exit points, load-in and load-out were expedited. Weekday shooting is limited because it's a working office, but we managed to work around this, given our budget constraints. I highly recommend this location for anyone seeking an office setting that enhances production value.

Christina was an absolutely fantastic host. We filmed a commercial at this house. Christina provided us with additional pictures of rooms we wanted to film before we booked. We made a last minute reservation and she was accommodating. This was a beautiful house and our clients loved the location. She was absolutely accommodating to us. Couldn’t thank her enough, can’t recommend this booking enough.

The space was exactly what we were looking for for our shoot. Misha was incredibly speedy with her responses and made sure that we had everything we needed and was very accommodating, friendly, and very clear with instructions on how to get into the building/parking. The only downside to the space was the AC wasn't working so it was quite warm especially as the day progressed.

Everything was awesome. We contracted Ryan in a last ditch effort to locate a retro vibe shoot location for a fixed date and time for our new Tribute Act. He worked with us to make it happen. We got it all done and are super happy with how everything worked out. Very communicative, and the place was super clean and accessible. Great location!

The space is incredibly spacious! The decor is top notch and it gives you so much to work with so you only need this one space for different looks! Kristen was great to work with, she had water, coffee and snacks set up and ready for us which was a nice surprise. She has the tech that you need for a successful shoot with different lights, music and more!

There is a wide selection of available soundstages that provide comfortable indoor sets and equipment rentals.

The Minnesota State Film Office offers tax incentives to help offset some costs associated with filming in the area.

Tips on How to Organize Filming in Minneapolis

Now that you know more about Minneapolis and some of the advantages and disadvantages of filming there, here are some tips on how to organize your film sessions:

Permits: Research the permit and insurance requirements for filming in Minneapolis. Permits are often required to film in Minneapolis, and you may need additional liability insurance if your production involves stunts or large crowds. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the regulations of the area you plan to film in so that you can be sure you have all of the necessary documents and permissions before beginning shooting.

Involvement of staff: Hire a local coordinator who can help ensure that shooting runs smoothly. Working with a local production company will also have benefits such as being able to get discounts on equipment rentals and having an experienced team available to help make your project a success.

Location scouting: Scout out potential locations ahead of time by taking photos, videos, or even full 360-degree panoramas of each location before filming. This will allow for more accurate pre-production planning, as well as provide reference points during shooting so that there is no confusion about which takes were filmed where.

Weather consideration: Prepare for Minnesota weather by booking a backup space if rain or inclement weather makes it impossible to shoot outdoors. Building relationships with local theaters or churches can come in handy in situations like this; they may be willing to rent out their space for filming at discounted rates or even free of charge if it’s for a good cause.

Food and drinks: Bring plenty of food on set since crew members should not be expected to work extended hours without sustenance. Investing in snacks and meals for your cast and crew goes a long way toward maintaining morale during long days on set. It's also important from a safety standpoint since many accidents can happen when people are tired from hunger or lack of sleep.
