I have nothing but FANTASTIC things to say about the space and host. Kristen was amazing accommodating from start to finish with excellent communication throughout and great ideas about how to make best use of the space for our event. The space itself is so versatile--we hosted a wedding party that got rave reviews from all guests. Post party guests moved on to restaurant/bar establishments in the neighborhood. I will highly recommend this gem of a studio in NE Minneapolis.

The space is incredibly spacious! The decor is top notch and it gives you so much to work with so you only need this one space for different looks! Kristen was great to work with, she had water, coffee and snacks set up and ready for us which was a nice surprise. She has the tech that you need for a successful shoot with different lights, music and more!

Pros and Cons of Dance Shoots in Minneapolis

Renting dance shoot locations for hosting dance shoots in Minneapolis can be a great way to get the perfect venue for an unforgettable event. However, there are pros and cons to take into consideration before deciding.

Advantages

  • Variety of options: Many different types of venues in the city could make a perfect fit for a dance shoot.
  • Cost-effective: Rental fees are much more affordable than purchasing or booking a permanent space.
  • Convenience: Finding the perfect rental location is often less time-consuming and easier than searching for and purchasing or booking property.
  • Space/Privacy: Rental spaces offer more private settings that allow photographers and dancers to be comfortable with their performances without interruption from bystanders.

Disadvantages

  • Limited time: Most rental agreements generally only provide access for a set period of time. This could limit the overall success of the shoot if it takes longer than planned.
  • Lack of amenities: Not all rental locations will have seating/furniture, stage/lighting, etc., so it’s important to make sure these items are included in the agreement before signing up for them.
  • Unpredictable weather: Weather can play an unpredictable role during outdoor shoots, so it’s important to factor this into any plans ahead of time.
  • Location/Accessibility: Depending on where the rental space is located in Minneapolis, accessibility could be an issue, specifically for those coming from out-of-town or further away locations.

Tips on How to Organize Dance Shoots in Minneapolis

Are you tasked with planning a dance shoot in Minneapolis? Look no further. Here are some tips on how to organize the perfect dance shoot in the city:

  • Scout out the locations beforehand: Minneapolis has plenty of amazing spots that can serve as great backdrops. Consider iconic sights or places with interesting textures and colors, like Stone Arch Bridge or The Collectors Gallery.
  • Hire trusted professionals: From camera operators to lighting crews, having experienced professionals by your side will make the shoot run smoothly. Ask around for referrals from local studios and production companies.
  • Consider the weather: Minnesota can have some unpredictable weather, so it's important to plan and check forecasts before your scheduled shoot days. Bring enough warm clothing for everyone involved and sun protection if necessary.
  • Negotiate for permits: Depending on where you plan to film, you may need a permit from the city or state government. Do your research beforehand and determine the costs of securing a permit early on to ensure a successful shoot day.
  • Put together an emergency kit: The last thing you want is for something to go wrong during your shoot. Gathering essential items like first aid kits, flashlights, extra batteries, and snacks into one bag will help prepare everyone for any unexpected mishaps or delays.
