With authentic New Orleans cuisine, an emphasis on comfort, the rooftop bar is a festive oasis offering locals and visitors alike a re-energizing escape from the strip clubs, cover bands and daiquiri shops outside. Located in the heart of the French Quarter, the welcoming gravity of the towering three-story building invites you to explore what lies beyond its French doors. The crown jewel of the venue is the recently-added third floor, which is home to the first and only rooftop bar on a lively and vibrant street. When you reach this summit, you first enter the inside bar area. Through the use of reclaimed building materials and painstaking design, this new addition has the same rustic, historical ambiance as the floors below. • Creole food

Even though it is a city, life is more slow-paced here. There is less stress in day-to-day activities and people find themselves walking about at a leisurely pace. It’s a great place to unwind while enjoying city life at the same time.

Disadvantages

  • Beaches are far from the city

The beaches are at least 90 minutes from the city, so if you are planning a beach wedding, it’s going to take your guests a while to get there. This may not be the most practical option.

  • Hot and humid in the summer

  • Struggling economy

Ever since Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, the economy has still not fully recovered. This means that there are fewer jobs and a significant difference between the wealthy and poorer sections of society.

  • Infrastructure needs development

You will notice that there are plenty of historic buildings around the city. But many of them need renovation and maintenance, which is a costly affair. Even though the roads are mostly straight, there are plenty of potholes and cracks that could damage your car.
