This location is a great place to shoot. Michele went above and beyond to facilitate our needs, which, as anyone who has worked on a movie knows, often shifts. There are a lot of rooms for production to utilize different set-ups. Michele is a dream of a host as she responds immediately and works with production to serve their needs.

Great location! The hosts were very accommodating and flexible. Their home was only 15 minutes from the GWB and there was plenty of parking. Their spacious home and property have tremendous character. The extra wide front door was ideal for moving in all our equipment/props. Additionally, the oversized halls provided optimal shooting opportunities. Also, the very large finished basement worked perfectly as a staging area and dressing room.

About East Hampton

East Hampton village can be found in eastern Long Island, New York. It’s part of the town of East Hampton and has a population of just over one thousand. The village of East Hampton was originally founded in 1648 and wasn’t incorporated into the town until 1920. During the summer months, thousands of tourists flock to the beautiful white sand beaches of East Hampton. It’s one of the most popular tourist destinations in Long Island but doesn’t tend to get as busy as other places.

Long Island itself is the largest island connected to the U.S., and it spans 118 miles. It’s divided into four counties; Suffolk, Nassau, Kings, and Queens, and East Hampton can be found in Suffolk. The picturesque scenery of East Hampton makes it a great backdrop for any film shoot location. It’s just under two hours from New York City, and the public transportation network makes day trips easy.

Pros and Cons of Film Shoot Locations in East Hampton

While East Hampton could be a great film shoot location, there are still pros and cons to consider before making final decisions. Make sure you know them all before committing to an East Hampton film shoot location.

Advantages

  • Plenty of beaches

  • Public transportation
Across all of Long Island, people can benefit from a public transportation network that connects to New York City. The Long Island Railroad, the second busiest commuter railroad in the country, takes millions from the island to NYC each year.

Disadvantages

  • Hurricanes and storms

  • Lack of winter fun
East Hampton becomes a popular tourist destination every summer thanks to the number of beaches in the village. However, there isn’t as much to enjoy during the winter season. This makes East Hampton more of a summer destination for most people.

  • Traffic
Long Island might not be as big of a tourist spot as NYC, but the traffic can get just as bad. While you’re in East Hampton it might not be too bad but trying to get anywhere else will be a headache.
