About the Space
High Desert Junkyard – Rusted Tools, Tires, and Metal Chaos The Junkyard is a gritty, sun-bleached graveyard of old machinery, building materials, tangled fencing, and industrial debris, all set against the dramatic backdrop of California's high desert terrain. This offbeat, rugged environment is perfect for post-apocalyptic scenes, grunge editorials, music videos, and any production seeking raw, uncompromising cinematic texture. Scattered across the property are rusted metal sheets, decommissioned equipment, pallets, old car parts, dilapidated furniture, wire fencing, and weathered industrial objects — all authentic, all un-staged. Located on a private 12-acre ranch in Lonesome Valley — within easy reach of LA and inside the Secondary Studio Zone. Ideal For: - Post-apocalyptic or dystopian films - Music videos with industrial/underground aesthetics - Gritty photoshoots & fashion editorials - Vehicle or stunt scenes - Character-driven storytelling in abandoned spaces Key Features: - Spread-out junkyard area with visual variety - Rusted tools, gear, fencing, barrels, and industrial props - Surrounded by open desert & dramatic hillsides • End-of-road privacy – no through traffic or interruptions • Secluded, fully private, and styled for total creative freedom • We are 100% stunt and blood friendly – perfect for action, horror, or FX scenes • Easy access to nearby farm facilities and support spaces • Modular Film Set Capable. The site’s mix of rust, dirt, and desert color palette makes it transformable — from a sun-bleached wasteland to a high-fashion editorial space. All props and structures are movable, repainted, and redressed per production design needs. On-Site Production Amenities: • Flat shaded staging zones available to productions for base camp and catering setups • Access to power where possible, with courtesy generator available for student films and non-profit shoots • Productions of 20 people or fewer are automatically permitted to use our modern bathrooms and showers located at the main ranch house. •Larger productions must bring their own FilmLA-approved sanitation units. • On-site parking for crew vehicles and grip trucks • Optional basecamp and greenroom area on adjacent property (negotiable) • Lockable 120 sq ft accessory buildings with internet available for staging or production use • Access to main ranch house kitchen and lounge Compliance & Safety This property is a ranch and residence that occasionally hosts permitted film and photography projects. “ArtFarm Movie Ranch” is an artistic brand identity — not a standing studio or permanent film facility. All productions must carry FilmLA permits and comply with local health and fire codes. Can be combined with other on-site locations (cabins, trailers, forest, vintage cars, saloon)

💛💛💛 "H"artfarm is a super special place with heart! I filmed a nonprofit project here for three days, and it honestly felt like I was being welcomed into someone’s home, not just a location. The family who owns the place opened their home to us in a way that made us feel completely at ease, and they went above and beyond for us. Tony and Saskia even helped with a portion of the script that just didn’t flow right that afternoon — and helped us restructure the project in a way that made everything work better than before. Sometimes a few simple good ideas make all the difference… and one brilliant idea is worth a thousand thank-yous! They even let us film for free for two days and only charged us for the first original day, just to make sure the mission and results were everything we hoped for and more. Who does that anymore? That kind of generosity is rare. It reminded me why I started doing this work in the first place — to make a difference, tell stories that matter, and connect with people who truly get it. Massive thanks to Saskia and her family for being so supportive, kind, and genuine. You’re the kind of humans who make it all worth it. 💛 thank you guys so super much forEVER :)
