I rented Emily's place for a birthday celebration. The space was great, hip and beautiful. However the experience I had with Emily was terrible!
Upon arrival we were told we would have to clean everything and take out the trash as they have no where to dump the trash. We agreed even though we paid a cleaning fee of $78.00 prior to the event.
Secondly she introduced us to her employee who would be present at our event during the entire duration. This was also mentioned on the contract however her employee had left the venue and said she would come back later on to check on us in which she failed to do so.
Around midnight Emily's toilet (not suitable for a large crowd) started giving us trouble. We closed off the bathroom and had our guests go across the street in another restaurant to use restrooms which we had to pay for! Around 1:15 the toilet water had raised and the place started flooding. Shortly after Emily arrived on scene and we had to shut down the party at 1:30 am.
She blamed the toilet issue on us and expected us to communicate with her however her assistant should have been present in case these kind of issues did arise.
We helped her clean the flood because we felt terrible, took out trash and arranged her place the way she wanted. We left her site by 2:15am.
Emily decided to file a complaint with This open Space and stated we caused the plumbing issues and wrecked her floor and that we extended our stay. Open space has been great thus far and are reviewing everything.
After asking Emily for proof that we damaged her floors she back peddled and stated that the toilet already had plumbing issues prior to the event and now is claiming that its just the extra hour we stayed back.
It really frustrates me that I had to shut down my party due to an issue that had already existed and I was completely unaware of!
I would have never rented the place had I known the washroom didn't work properly.
Her space is great but please remember to note what you pay for, all the fees and take pictures of the space before and after as I did so you don't have to deal with any inconvenience or false accusations.

Emily was a lovely and considerate host, responding timely to my questions about the booking and accommodating our needs in the room when we arrived! I would definitely go back!
