Multiple long sight lines from room to room that may incorporate views of the yard and bay allow for tracking shots that follow characters as they move between spaces, and permit various camera angles that emphasize the flow of spaces that continue up the master staircase to second-floor landing. This flow, as well as ample windows, French doors, and picture windows, create a light, airy, and open feel. House maintains virtually all original features and details that add to the distinctive character of our home, such as wood beams and tin ceilings with embossed designs, crystal and colored glass chandeliers, stained glass windows, small mosaic floor tiles and hardwood floors, Persian rugs and Moravian tile fireplace depicting biblical scenes, French doors that span length of porch, and closets with "obscure" glass panes. Among furniture is varnished mahogany dining room table with growth rings that accommodates up to 16 with all leaves, Queen Anne chairs, and sixteenth century carved-oak rustic Spanish monastery table. Original cedar closet and crawl space for storage on third floor under eaves. In basement are industrial-style boiler room with period instruments, laundry room with three porcelain wash tubs, and wood wine cellar. House evokes era of "The Great Gatsby." Modern features include "endless pool" off of breakfast nook, and steam/sauna and whirlpool bath in master bath. View of two bridges, three boroughs — Bronx, Queens, and a few Manhattan skyscrapers — and Long Island. House offers various styles of rooms, views, angles, and types of shots. Four minute drive/15-20 minute walk from LIRR station. Free and ample street parking 6AM-10PM.
