The House of Kindness is a high desert time machine. Step back in time in this original 1973 desert gem brought back to an era of original 60s & 70s mid century design featuring old televisions, stereos and art throughout. The perfect setting for shooting classic films or timeless ads and editorials.
Each room features a different theme and style design that flows into the next. "The Don" is the hyper atomic mid century bedroom lounge with its own fireplace featuring a Eero Aarnio style ball chair and original 60s standalone turntable as well as a full danish bedroom set.
"The Venus" is our ornate master bedroom fit for a queen. The cool blue tones and original blue velvet wallpaper set a tone of calmness with a 6' clawfoot tub in the room. The Venus also features its own swan themed bathroom with moroccan tiles and vintage fixtures.
The living room is the throwback entertainment zone where you'll find an original 1960's Sylvania television and stereo cabinet (still works), plush green carpet and gold velvet wallpaper that compliment the wood paneled feature wall. With a floor to ceiling teak room divider and Letterman triptych it feels as though you've stepped back into the coolest house in the 60s/70s.
Lastly, the exterior of the property is on 2.5 fenced acres at the top of a hill with a grand overview of the high desert. There are two clawfoot tubs for photos in the side yard, a hammock garden featuring 4 hammocks in a circle and a victorian style bed down the hill.
Stories shot at the House of Kindness have been featured on Vogue, Playboy, Supernatural and more.
