A Mid-Century Modern gem, located in the heart of Santa Barbara, CA. The original bones of this 1955 home have been lovingly restored to accentuate the marvelous views, clean lines, high ceilings and abundance of natural light. Incredible views of the Santa Ynez Mountains and Riviera are seen from the original living room windows, as well as throughout the completely renovated 3-level backyard. Mid-Century Moroccan was the inspiration for the backyard overhaul, which was completed in 2022. Terrazzo tile, a redwood soaking tub, gas fire pit, large redwood deck, and a studio for ceramics were all added. The three tiered levels of the yard are connected by poured concrete steps, pavers and landscaped paths. A mix of desert cacti, exotic flowers, citrus trees and leafy greenery fill the paths and artisan planters. Outdoor furniture by HAY provides seating throughout the space, and the main level is completed by a large wooden table (which seats 10) and custom upholstered sectional, both by Modernica. The interior of the home includes wide plank French Oak floors, floor to ceiling windows, beam ceilings and a floating stone hearth under the modern living room fireplace. Tall, original hand crank windows cover the Southeast wall of the home, offering views of the sunrise & mountains. The master bedroom has a glass door to the patio, with additional views of the landscaping and mountains. The kitchen includes a Thermador gas range, stainless steel appliances, slate floors/counters and large windows overlooking the front yard. The front of the home has classic Mid-Century floor to ceiling windows, overlooking the front yard putting green surrounded by cacti & bougainvillea. The interior decor includes Mid-Century furniture from Herman Miller, Knoll, Milo Baughman, Piero Lissoni, Case Study & Modernica. These vintage pieces are accented with Moroccan rugs, modern art and handmade ceramics.
