About the Space
Welcome to our magical pocket dimension! Our hilltop Chateau-Castle sits atop a ridge at the end of a long winding private drive which blends majestically into the peaceful, private setting complimented by stunning views of the lower Hudson Valley mountains. Once you pass through the Gothic entry gates, flaming braziers welcome you across the drawbridge as you enter another world. Unique features include a Medieval-inspired tavern with hand-hewn beams, custom stained-glass windows, wide board floors, gothic furniture and a massive stone cooking fireplace. All bedrooms reflect the owners love of elegant history and passion for inspired epic fantasy settings. A custom, curved staircase leads to a spacious light-filled living room and mountain views out the leaded glass windows. Our property includes a library, castle tower, spiral stone staircase with arrow slits, gothic chapel dining room, secret door bookcase, spiked door, Greco/Roman inspired solarium, and countless intriguing spaces inside and out w/historic architectural elements and antiques. Outbuildings include a Pennsylvania style 2 1/2 story barn, Stone yeoman hut with cedar shingles, garden shed and large octangular Victorian gazebo encircled by 30+ year old Rhododendrons. A custom shield-shaped pool is surrounded by mature cottage gardens and a breathtaking gothic/Victorian iron fence. The house boasts established and meticulously maintained formal and perennial gardens, each with their own unique characteristics. At the end of a long formal path, sits a one of a kind ruined stone folly archway which frames a 6’ tall Pan statue terminus. Other garden areas include a shade garden with pond and gothic benches, a metal Victorian fountain pond, an herb garden, and more. The castle sits on 11.5 acres with woodland paths and wonderous elm tree Ent named Lowfrond who guards the forest. Magnificent!

Beautiful venue with excellent hosts! Rob was responsive, kind, and clearly invested in fulfilling the needs of the project beyond just having us in the space. He was incredibly accommodating and understanding throughout the whole process, and has plenty of experience hosting. The venue has so many excellent spaces to shoot in, from beautifully crafted gardens to the woods surrounding. The house itself has so many rooms, all with decor that has been carefully curated by the hosts. Could not recommend enough!

Right from the moment they greeted us as we drove in, I could tell they genuinely cared about our project and about us as guests. Anything we needed, they were right there to accommodate. If you need a unique steampunk/fantasy historical setting, then their home is the perfect place. Highly recommended. Would definitely book again.

Mabe and Rob were a delight to work with from the initial enquiry all the way through a busy (and unusual!) shoot day. They helped us out with a lot of random and sometimes last minute requests and were extremely accommodating, understanding and supportive. Very generous, friendly and kind people - and a beautiful property! - would highly highly recommend.

Rob and Mabe were so kind and generous and helpful: our production was a little complicated and Rob was patient and empathetic throughout the whole process. On the day of the shoot he and Mabe were the perfect hosts: they showed us the ropes, gave us some guidelines and disappeared until checking in with us halfway through. They were attentive without being intrusive. And the house! The love and care they pour into this very special property is truly lovely. I cannot recommend them highly enough. It's a fabulous unique location stewarded by two fabulous and unique people!

Could not recommend this castle enough. An amazing beautiful, and spacious property with wonderful hosts. Rob and Mabe were so attentive, hospitable, and kind. The inside of the home is straight out of a fantasy story. It truly feels like you’re in a book or movie as soon as you walk in. My party and I had such a memorable night!

We have been looking for a beautiful house upstate for a modeling photoshoot. Rob and Mabelyn’s place was by far and away the hidden gem. While only a short distance from the city when we arrived we were struck by the serene natural beauty whether of the perfectly manicured gardens or the pristine forest surrounding the house. Rob gave us a tour and helped us set up to ensure the team was comfortable and could hit the ground running, and Rob and his wife supported us throughout the day, even helping us coordinate parking when we ended up with extra cars onsite. The house itself has amazing character and charisma which is only elaborated after dark as the torches light up the the castle gate and the mood lighting comes one. I wish Rob & Mabelyn the best of luck with their beautiful home and would wholeheartedly recommend this awesome castle for any of your creative projects!

What can I say besides WOW. Everything and anything you would ever want and or need is at this location. All original and handcrafted by the hosts -and such fine detail. The hosts were INCREDIBLE always there when needed and extremely helpful. I would recommend this location and the hosts without a doubt! If you’re thinking about this location- don’t- just BOOK!
