Allora is the Italian word for affection and was fittingly named by JD Connolly. He built this house and gave it as a beautiful engagement present for his future wife. The house is a Victorian Italianate boom time architecture with original French antique tiles, cast iron lace decoration, stained glass windows and a roof dragon. We have restored the period 1900 to 1920s styles. A delightful house with Baltic pine floors, original fittings and fireplaces, lovingly restored. Each room has restored furniture sympathetic to the period of the house. We have been fortunate, sourcing furniture that spent its life in the Goldfields. Our lounge/dining area has a chaise lounge, lounge suite, full-size TV and sound system, coffee table, and dining table with four chairs overlooking the garden. A wide veranda opens onto a sheltered garden. We grow heritage plants, seasonal herbs, and vegetables to enjoy as a backdrop. Lovely to watch the changes of the season within the garden. Enjoy relaxing in antique folding chairs and garden benches.
