My farmhouse went under its current renovation last year & was opened for guests in May 2022, I am new to being a host, but everyone is treated like my family or friends.
I am very familiar with hosting people to the farm as it was considered a destination farm where we grew flowers, herbs, etc. My husband was the county's Broom Maker making handmade brooms on 1884 equipment.
The farm, The Calvert Homestead, which I live on is very special. Not only is the land in a preservation program which means it can never be broken up, the farmhouse, on this land and is part of the Historic registry of Calvert County. Taking care of the farmhouse, land and gardens brings me great enjoyment. Growing vegetables, flowers & making jams & jellies for family and friends is something I have been doing for many years. Sharing the beauty & peacefulness of the farm and what Southern Maryland has to offer is what's important to me.
